Abstract

Apparatus and method for delivering a predetermined quantity of content (14) from a pressurized container include a container (10) for housing a pressurized gas (12) and a content (14); a valve (26) for releasing content from the container (10); a metering chamber (16) in fluid communication with the container (10) and the valve (26) and having an upper wall and a lower wall, the metering chamber (16) defining a volume proportionate to a predetermined quantity of content (14) to be delivered; and a movable partition (28) comprising a seal (30) positioned in the chamber (16) and capable of moving from a first resting position to a second sealing position, the sealing position sealing fluid communication of the chamber (16) with the valve (26). When the valve (26) is opened to deliver content (14) from the container (10), the movable partition (28) moves from a first resting position to a second sealing position.
