Abstract
A system and method for enhancing a security function through double monitoring notifies a user of whether an abnormal situation has occurred even in the case that a home controller does not judge whether an abnormal situation such as door lock opening and trespass detection has occurred, due to an abnormality of the home controller, power failure or a power cut-off to the home controller, to thereby provide an effect of improving reliability of a security. When the opening event of a door by a digital door lock occurs or external trespass is sensed by a sensor mounted in a house, the home controller in which a crime prevention mode is preset checks if a security mode has been released within a preset time, and simultaneously notifies an external management server of the opening of the door lock and trespass detection, to thus make the management server check if the security mode has been released. Accordingly, even in the case of the abnormality of the home controller or the power cutoff to the home controller, the management server judges that an abnormal situation has occurred if there is no signal stating a security mode has released, and notifies a user's cellular phone that the abnormal situation has occurred using a short message service (SMS). Therefore, even in the case of an abnormal situation where a door is abnormally opened or an undue trespass occurs through other routes, and thus the home controller does not operate due to an abnormality of the home controller or a power cut-off to the home controller, the management server can generate an alarm and notifies a user that an abnormal situation has occurred, to thereby improve a reliability of a security function in the house.

Description
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENHANCING SECURITY FUNCTION THROUGH DOUBLE MONITORING
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a security system using a household home controller, and more particularly, to a system and method for enhancing a security function through double monitoring in which a trespass due to an opening of a door lock or sensor detection without permission is doubly monitored by a home controller and an external management server, to thus make the external management server judge whether or not the door lock has been opened without permission even in the case that the home controller is out of order, or the home controller is in a power failure state, or power cut-off state, to thereby generate an alarm and notify a user of the alarm situation. Background Art
[2] Conventional door lock devices have been developed into a self-door opening and closing system that uses a mechanical opening and closing method or a contact type opening and closing method. That is, to open a door, a door lock is unlocked by using a key or pressing a password. Otherwise, a person should move to a door and open the door in the case that a guest calls on. Recently, a device has been proposed that controls opening and closing of a door lock by a radio remote control method or a wire connection method that uses a frequency communication method in a house without making a person move to a place that the door lock is installed.
[3] A Korean patent laid-open publication No. 2005-33402 published on April 12, 2005 entitled "Remote door lock control device using an electric power line and an infrared communication method" has been proposed by the same applicant as that of the present invention. Here, a technology that can perform a door lock on-off control and sense a door lock opening and closing state using a wireless infrared communication method and an electric power line in or out of a house has been disclosed.
[4] By the way, conventional door lock devices are restrictive and limited in their functions, at a degree that they receive only an opening/closing state of a door lock or perform only an opening/closing command of a door lock.
[5] Thus, in the case of a recent household security system, a crime prevention function is established in a door lock. If a trespass is detected through the door lock, the household security system notifies a user that the trespass has occurred in order to perform the crime prevention function. The crime prevention function will be described in more detail below with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.
[6] FlG. 1 is a schematic block diagram showing a security system using a household home controller, and FlG. 2 is a flowchart view for explaining a conventional security action of the FlG. 1 security system.
[7] If a door (not shown) opens by a normal operation or someone breaks the door and opens the door compulsorily, an opening event of a digital door lock 11 is generated (step 201). Also, an undue trespass through windows, etc., is detected by a household trespass detection sensor 13 (step 202). The door lock 11 and the trespass detection sensor 13 notify a home controller 14 of the opening of the door lock 11 and trespass detection, in which the door lock 11 and the trespass detection sensor 13 are in electric power line communication with the home controller 14 (step 203). The home controller 14 is preset to a crime prevention mode by a user's manipulation. An infrared ray relay 12 is connected to the door lock 11 and the home controller 14 in order to relay a commnuncation between the door lock 11 of the infrared ray communication and the home controller 14 of the electric power line communication. The home controller 14 which is operated in the crime prevention mode withholds generation of an alarm for a predetermined set time and stands by after having received a message that the door lock 11 has opened and the trespass is detected from the trespass detection sensor 13 (step 204). The home controller 14 checks whether or not a security will be released for a time of withholding generation of an alarm and stand ing by (step 205). Here, the predetermined set time is a time taken until when a user who enters while opening the door normally releases a security mode such as a crime prevention mode. That is, if the crime prevention mode has been released as a result of checking at step 205, the home controller 14 judges that the opening of the door lock 11 is a normal settlement and does not produce an alarm (step 206). On the contrary, in the case that the crime prevention mode is not released within a given time, the home controller 14 regards the opening of the door lock 11 as an undue trespass and produces an alarm (step 207). Then, the home controller 14 performs an electric power line communication with a home gateway 15 and transfers occurrence of an abnormal circumstance to the home gateway 15 (step 208). The home gateway 15 having received the abnormal circumstance occurrence notifies an external management server 16 of the abnormal circumstance occurrence via a telephone network or the Internet (step 209). The management server 16 having been notified of the abnormal circumstance occurrence from the home gateway 15 recognizes the abnormal circumstance occurrence (step 210) and then notifies a user's cellular phone 16 of the undue trespass using a short message service (SMS) (step 211).
[8] Meanwhile, while the home controller 14 withholds generation of an alarm and stands by for a given time (step 204), if an event such as an abnormal situation, a power failure or a power cutoff occurs in the home controller 14 (step 212), a security
program algorithm routine does no longer happen to thus make a user not check whether or not an undue trespass occurs (step 213). That is, the home controller 14 cannot generate an alarm about the undue trespass and cannot inform the management server 16 of the undue trespass. [9] In this way, in the case of a conventional security system, if an external invader enters into a house and breaks the home controller or cuts off an electric power, that is, if a situation that the home controller cannot operate normally occurs, the home controller cannot judge whether or not the crime prevention mode has been normally released. Accordingly, the security program algorithm routine does no longer happen. As a result, the home controller does not notify the home gateway or management server of the opening of the door lock, and thus the management server cannot check whether or not an abnormal situation happens.
Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[10] Therefore, in order to supplement the shortcoming of the conventional art, it is an object of the present invention to provide a system and method for enhancing a security function through double monitoring in which an external management server can judge whether or not an abnormal circumstance occurs even in the case that a home controller does not judge whether or not a crime prevention mode is released, to thus enhance reliability of a security function. Technical Solution
[11] To accomplish the above object of the present invention, there is provided a system for enhancing a security function through double monitoring, the security system using a household home controller comprising:
[12] a door lock;
[13] a trespass detection sensor;
[14] a household home controller which notifies an external management server of an opening event of the door lock and trespass detection via a home gateway, if the opening of the door lock and trespass detection are respectively notified from the door lock and the trespass detection sensor, checks whether or not a security mode is released within a preset time, and then notifies the external management server that the security mode has been released or an abnormal situation has occurred;
[15] an external management server which checks whether or not the security mode has been released from the home controller within the preset time if the opening event of the door lock or trespass detection has been notified from the home controller via the home gateway, and judges that the abnormal situation has occurred if the security mode has not released within the preset time to accordingly notify a user of an undue
trespass; and [16] a home gateway which connects between the home controller and the external management server. [17] There is also provided a method of enhancing a security function through double monitoring of a security system using a home controller, the security function enhancing method comprising the steps of:
[18] (a) setting the home controller to a crime prevention mode by a user's manipulation;
[19] (b) notifying the home controller of the door opening event of a door lock or the trespass detection of a trespass detection sensor, if the door opening event is generated from the door lock or the undue trespass is detected by the trespass detection sensor, wherein the home controller is set to a crime prevention mode; [20] (c) notifying an external management server of the door lock opening event or trespass detection, and withholding the generation of an alarm for a predetermined time and standing by, if the household home controller is notified of the door lock opening event or trespass detection; and [21] (d) standing by for the predetermined time if the external management server is notified of the door lock opening event or trespass detection from the home controller, and notifying a user that an abnormal situation has occurred, if there is no signal from the home controller until the predetermined time passes by or if a signal informing the user that the security mode has not released is received from the home controller.
Advantageous Effects [22] The present invention provides a system and method for enhancing a security function through double monitoring in which an external management server can judge whether or not an abnormal circumstance occurs even in the case that a home controller does not judge whether or not a crime prevention mode is released, to thus enhance reliability of a security function through the double monitoring, and to thereby provide an effect of improving reliability of a security system.

ouble monitoring, the security system using a household home controller comprising: a door lock; a trespass detection sensor; a home controller which notifies an external management server of an opening event of the door lock and trespass detection via a home gateway, if the opening of the door lock and trespass detection are respectively notified from the door lock and the trespass detection sensor, checks whether or not a security mode is released within a preset time, and then notifies the external management server that the security mode has been released or an abnormal situation has occurred; an external management server which checks whether or not the security mode has been released from the home controller within the preset time if the opening event of the door lock or trespass detection has been notified from the home controller via the home gateway, and judges that the abnormal situation has occurred if the security mode has not released within the preset time to accordingly notify a user of an undue trespass; and a home gateway which connects between the home controller and the external management server.
[27] The present invention also provides a method of enhancing a security function through double monitoring of a security system using a home controller, the security function enhancing method comprising the steps of: (a) setting the home controller to a crime prevention mode by a user's manipulation; (b) notifying the home controller of the door opening event of a door lock or the trespass detection of a trespass detection sensor, if the door opening event is generated from the door lock or the undue trespass is detected by the trespass detection sensor, wherein the home controller is set to a crime prevention mode; (c) notifying an external management server of the door lock opening event or trespass detection, and withholding the generation of an alarm for a predetermined time and standing by, if the home controller is notified of the door lock opening event or trespass detection; and (d) standing by for the predetermined time if the external management server is notified of the door lock opening event or trespass detection from the home controller, and notifying a user that an abnormal situation has occurred, if there is no signal from the home controller until the predetermined time passes by or if a signal informing the user that the security mode has not released is received from the home controller. Mode for the Invention
[28] Hereinbelow, a security function enhancing system and method according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[29] FlG. 1 is a block diagram showing a security system using a household home controller and FlG. 3 is a flowchart view for explaining a security action through double monitoring in which a security function enhancing method according to the
present invention in the FlG. 1 system is applied.
[30] A security system shown in FlG. 1 includes a digital door lock 11, a trespass detection sensor 13 which is mounted in a house (not shown) to sense whether or not undue trespass occurs, and a home controller 14 that controls opening and closing of the door lock 11 and that is notified of an opening event from the door lock 11 and the opening of the door lock from the trespass detection sensor 13. An infrared ray relay 12 is connected between the home controller 14 and the digital door lock 11 in order to relay a bidirectional electric power line communication and an infrared (IR) communication. In addition, the security system of FlG. 1 includes a home gateway 15 which is notified of the opening of the door lock or undue trespass through an electric power line communication with the home controller and transfers the notified result to the outside of the household home controller, and an external management server 16 which is connected with the home controller 15 via a telephone network or the Internet to thus be notified of the opening of the door lock and undue trespass and judge whether or not an abnormal situation has occurred. The management server 16 notifies a user's cellular phone terminal 17 of occurrence of an abnormal situation, by a short message service (SMS) or monitors if singularity circumstance occurrence by user cellular phone 17 synchronous an abnormal situation occurs through a call center terminal 18.
[31] A security action through double monitoring in which a security function enhancing method according to the present invention in the FlG. 1 system is applied, will be described below with reference to FlG. 3.
[32] In the case that a door opens normally in a digital door lock 11 or the door is opened compulsorily, an opening event of the door lock is generated (step 301). A trespass detection sensor 13 which is mounted in a house senses trepass ditection (step 302). The door lock 11 and the trespass detection sensor 13 notify a home controller 14 of the opening of the door lock and trespass detection through an electric power line communication (step 303). At this time, the home controller 14 is preset to a crime prevention mode by a user's manipulation. An infrared ray relay 12 is connected between the door lock 11 and the home controller, in order to relay a commnuncation between the door lock 11 of the infrared ray communication and the home controller 14 of the electric power line communication. If the home controller 14 which is operated in the crime prevention mode is notified of the door opening from the door lock 11, or is notified of the trespass detection from the trespass detection sensor 13, the home controller 14 withholds an alarm for a preset time and stands by (step 304). These steps 301-304 are the same as those of the FlG. 2 conventional security action.
[33] In addition, as soon as the home controller 14 has been notified of the opening of the door from the door lock 11 or the trespass detectin from the sensor 13, it transmits this
notification to a home gateway 15 (step 305). The home gateway 15 transfers a door lock opening situation to an external management server 16 through a telephone network or the Internet (step 306). Here, the external management server 16 receives these situations through the home gateway 15, recognizes the door opening or trespass detection, withholds an alarm for a predetermined time, and awaits a next signal transferred from the home controller 14 via the home gateway 15 (step 307).
[34] Meanwhile, when the home controller 14 withholds an alarm for a predetermined time and stands by in step 304, the home controller 14 checks whether or not a crime prevention mode is released by a user within a predetermined time (step 308). If the crime prevention mode has been released as a result of checking of step 308, the home controller 14 judges that the door has been normally opened and does not produce an alarm to then notify the management server 16 that the crime prevention mode has been released via the home gateway 15 (step 309). On the contrary, in the case that the crime prevention mode is not released within a given time, as a result of checking of step 308, the home controller 14 regards the opening of the door as an undue trespass and produces an alarm (step 310). Simultaneously, the home controller 14 transfers an abnormal situation to the home gateway 15 (step 311). The home gateway 15 having received the abnormal circumstance occurrence notifies the external management server 16 that the crime prevention mode has not been released and a preset time has passed (step 312).
[35] The management server 16 has been notified that the crime prevention mode has been normally released or the preset time has passed within a preset time when the management server 16 stands by in step 307, through the home gateway 15 and checks whether or not the crime prevention mode has been normally released (step 313). If the management server 16 has been notified that the crime prevention mode has not been released as a result of checking of step 313, the management server 16 judges that the abnormal circumstance has occurred (step 315) and then notifies a user's cellular phone 16 of an undue trespass using a short message service (SMS) (step 316).
[36] Meanwhile, if an event such as an abnormal situation, or a power failure or a power cutoff occurs for a standby time of step 304 in the home controller 14 (step 317), the home controller 14 does not judge any longer whether or not the crime prevention mode has been released. As a result, a security program algorithm routine does no longer happen to thus make a user not check whether or not an undue trespass occurs (step 318).
[37] However, the management server 16 has been notified of the opening of the door lock or trespass detection through steps 305 and 306 before the event of step 317 occurs. Accordingly, the management server 16 judges that an abnormal situation has occurred (step 315), when a standby time has passed irrespective of a notification of a
signal that the crime prevention mode has been released from the home controller checking whether or not the crime prevention mode has been released in step 313, and the management server 16 takes follow-up measures notifying a user of an undue trespass.
[38] As described above, in comparison with a conventional security algorithm which enables only a household home controller to judge whether an abnormal situation has occurred and notify an external management server of the abnormal situation, the system and method for enhancing the security function through the double monitoring according to the present invention can judge doubly in the external management server whether or not an abnormal situation has occurred, and utilize a back-up security method of judging whether an abnormal situation has occurred even in the case that the home controller does not judge whether an abnormal situation has occurred, to thereby provide an effect of improving reliability of a security.
[39] As described above, the present invention has been described with respect to a particularly preferred embodiment. However, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and it is possible for one who has an ordinary skill in the art to make various modifications and variations, without departing off the spirit of the present invention. Thus, the protective scope of the present invention is not defined within the detailed description thereof but is defined by the claims to be described later and the technical spirit of the present invention. Industrial Applicability
[40] As described above, the system and method for enhancing the security function through the double monitoring according to the present invention can be used for a door lock device, and a household security system such as a crime or disaster prevention device.
