Description
SOFA STRUCTURE WITH HIGH FLEXIBILITY OF USE
DESCRIPTION
The present invention refers to a sofa structure with high flexibility of use.
It is known how it is sometimes problematic to adapt a sofa to a room in which there is little space available or the space is of an unusual shape.
Conventional sofas with linear extension or with a right angle are often unable to adapt flexibly according to the size or the configuration of the space available.
The technical task proposed of the present invention is, therefore, to make a sofa structure that allows the aforementioned technical drawbacks of the prior art to be eliminated.
In this technical task, a purpose of the invention is to make a sofa structure with high flexibility of use that can be adapted to rooms of different shape and size, sometimes even complex.
Another purpose of the invention is to make a modular sofa structure that is aesthetically pleasing.
The technical task as well as these and other purposes, according to the present invention are accomplished by making a sofa structure in accordance with claim 1.
Other characteristics of the present invention are defined, moreover, in the subsequent claims.
Further characteristics and advantages of the invention shall become clearer from the description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of the sofa structure according to the finding, illustrated for indicating and not limiting purposes in the attached drawings, in which:
figures 1, 2 and 3 show a perspective view of a sofa structure in accordance with the invention in different positions of use;
figure 4 shows a top side section view of a first preferred embodiment for the first and second rotating connection means of the second and/or third module to the first module.
figure 5 shows a view of a first module in accordance with the finding, having the first and second connection means of figure 4 ;
and figure 6 shows a top side section view of the detail of a second preferred embodiment at least for the first rotating connection means of the second module to the first module.
With reference to the quoted figures, a sofa structure is shown, wholly indicated with reference numeral 1.
The sofa structure 1 comprises a first module 2 and at least a second module 3 having at least one seat 4.
In particular, in the case illustrated there is also a third module 5 having at least one seat 6.
The sofa structure 1 comprises first rotating connection means of the second module 3 to the first module 2, and in
particular also second rotating connection means of the third module 5 to the first module 2.
The first and second rotating connection means define a common vertical rotation axis 7 for the second module 3 and the third module 5.
Preferably, the first module 2 has a circular shape through the centre of which the rotation axis 7 passes.
The second module 3 and the third module 5, respectively, have arched side surfaces 8 and 9, respectively, of a shape matching the annular side surface 10 of the first module 2 parallel to which they are able to slide in contact or almost .
In a first preferred embodiment illustrated in figure 4 and 5, the first and second articulation means comprise an upright 11 that crosses the centre of the first module 2 to which it is firmly connected.
The upright 11 carries a first radial rotating connection arm 12 with the second module 3, and a second radial rotating connection arm 13 with the third module 5.
The first arm 12 is defined by a first flat longitudinal plate, whereas the second arm 13 is defined by a second shaped longitudinal plate having a first transversal bend 14 and a second transversal bend 15 such as to define a first flat portion 40 adjacent to the rotation axis 7 and at a different height to the first arm 12, and a second flat portion 41 distant from the rotation axis 7 and at the same
height as the first arm 12.
For the hinging to the upright 11 the first and second arm 12 and 13, respectively, at the radially inner end carry a respective first and second ring 16 and 17 equipped with a respective first and second rotation bearing 18 and 19, whereas the radially outer end of the first and second arm 12 and 13, respectively, projects from the annular side surface 10 of the first module 2 and has respective at least one first and at least one second hole 20 and 21 for the connection to a connection element at the frame of the second and third module 3 and 5, respectively.
The first module 2 has a padding 22 supported by a framework 23 under which the first and second arm 12 and 13 are positioned, adjacent to one another along the upright 11.
The rotation of the modules 3 and 5 is permitted by the two coaxial arms 12 and 13 that can rotate with respect to the upright 11.
In a second preferred embodiment illustrated in figure 5, at least the first rotating connection means comprise a fixed guide 25 extending along at least part of the annular side surface 10 of the first module 2.
Preferably, the fixed guide 25 is an open trapezoidal profile .
In this case, the first rotating connection means also comprise a first mobile guide 26 that, extending from the side surface 8 of the second module 3 , couples with the fixed
guide 25 .
The first mobile guide 26 has, in particular, a spherical connection head slidably introduced into the open trapezoidal profile constituting the fixed guide 25.
The second rotating connection means of the third module 5 to the first module 2 can also, of course, be of an analogous type, in this case also foreseeing a spherical connection head slidably introduced into an open trapezoidal profile.
The second and third module 3 and 5, being able to be moved in rotation, advantageously have feet equipped with support wheels 30 and 31.
In the version illustrated the first module 2 is a circular pouffe, but in different versions it could be something else, for example a circular table.
The sofa structure of the present invention has excellent functionality and great flexibility of use suitable in particular for satisfying the requirements of those who have to furnish living spaces that are small or have complex or simply modern and dynamic geometry.
The modular nature of the sofa structure allows the combination of just a first and second module in which the first module can also be shaped differently to circular, so long as the interfacing side surfaces between the two modules have a matching shape arched according to a circumference centred on the rotation axis of the second module with respect to the first module .
The sofa structure thus conceived can undergo numerous modifications and variants, all covered by the inventive concept; moreover, all of the details can be replaced by technically equivalent elements.
In practice, the materials used, as well as the sizes, can be whatever according to the requirements and the state of the art.
