The tool comprises a flat base plate upon which the user would stand, attached to the based plate is a cylindrical hub set at an angle of approximately 60 degrees which has a hole in the top thereof for the attachment of a strike bar, the strike bar is spring based and when hit by the golfer will allow the golfer to obtain the correct mechanical feeling of 'hands in front of the club head' for a pure chipping shot.
Description
CHTPPING-PRO GOLF CHIPPING AID TOOL
The invention thought up by me and designed by me, is a self help tool or piece of apparatus for a golfer of any standard, male or female to assist the golfer in improving their chipping game. It is designed to be mobile and therefore easy to use in any location and can be used by both left and right handed golfers.
Very few tools are available in the market today to help the golfer improve the chipping part of his or her game, all devices in this area such as small chipping nets and actual clubs with an angled face are designed totally along the lines of either catching the golf ball or helping the golfer get the ball into the air. This invention is specifically designed to assist the golfer with the human mechanics involved in chipping a golf ball successfully and can be used in conjunction with other tools available but not instead of as they approach the issue from totally different perspectives.
The "Pro-Chip" device comprises of a flat base plate which the user would stand upon, the bottom of which has unique "V" shaped grooves and utilises the user's body weight in conjunction with the "V" grooves, for stability of the base.
The base plate has attached to it a cylindrical hub set at an angle of approximately 45 degrees and has a hole in the top used as a receptacle for the strike bar.
The strike bar is a plastic bar, which slides into the cylindrical hub attached to the base plate. The bar itself is in total 27 cm long with the top 18 cm being covered in rubber/sponge housing.
The base can preferably be made from a plastic composition; however other materials can be used. As an example the prototype is made from metal and works very well overall.
The invention may be better understood with reference to the illustrations of embodiments of the invention which:
Figure. 1 is an elevation of the golf chipping device from above showing the dimensions along with the housing device for the strike zone rod.
Figure.2 is a side a partial side elevation showing the housing device and its angle of residence on the main standing plate.
Figure.3 is a width elevation of the golf chipping device showing the "V" shaped grooves for grip to the floor.
Figure. 4 shows the bottom elevation of the base plate with the "V" shaped grooves running along the whole surface.
Figure. 5 shows the strike rod which slots into the housing on the base plate, it also shows the Rubber/sponge covering at the top end of the strike rod to absorb impact
Figure 6 shows the strike rod from the top elevation with its diameters.
