Abstract

A mechanism allowing for manually opening and closing electrically operated umbrellas is disclosed. The manually operated mechanism is characterized by an actuation member (7) configured to transmit a manual torque to a drive shaft (4) of the motor driven mechanism for rotating it manually and thereby opening or closing the umbrella in the same manner it would be opened or closed in case torque is originated by the electrical motor (22) during electrical operation of the umbrella.
