Abstract

Disclosed is a high-rigidity high-damping-capacity cast iron characterized by consisting of C and Si having a carbon equivalent represented by the formula (1) below of 3.30-3.95%, 0.25-1.0% of Mn, not more than 0.04% of P, not more than 0.03% of S, 3-7% of Al, 0.03-0.20% of Sn and the balance of Fe and unavoidable impurities. Carbon equivalent (%) = the amount of C (%) + (1/3) x the amount of Si (%).
