Abstract

 本発明のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法は、少なくとも1つのサブフィールドの初期化期間において画像表示を行う全ての放電セルに対して初期化放電を発生させる全セル初期化動作を行い、全セル初期化動作を行う初期化期間のあるサブフィールド以外のサブフィールドでは書込み放電を発生するサブフィールドと書込み放電を発生させないサブフィールドとを任意に組み合わせて放電セルで階調を表示するとともに、全セル初期化動作を行う初期化期間のあるサブフィールドに続くいずれかのサブフィールドの書込み期間で書込み放電を発生させる放電セルでは、全セル初期化動作を行う初期化期間のあるサブフィールドでも書込み放電を発生させる。
