Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé destiné au traitement thermique exempt d'oxygène d'une pièce d'acier dans un four à pression atmosphérique. Le présent procédé de traitement par lots utilise une atmosphère gazeuse contrôlée exempte d'oxygène renfermant 1,0 à 10,0% environ d'un gaz hydrogène, 0,1 à 10,0% environ d'un gaz d'hydrocarbures, tel que du propylène, cette concentration variant en fonction du temps, le reste de l'atmosphère gazeuse étant constitué d'azote. Le présent procédé de traitement au four continu utilise une pluralité de zones, chaque zone comprenant une atmosphère gazeuse contrôlée exempte d'oxygène renfermant 0,1 à 10,0% environ d'un gaz hydrogène, cette concentration variant à travers les différentes zones, 0,1 à 10,0% environ d'un gaz d'hydrocarbures, tel que propylène, cette concentration variant à travers les différentes zones, le reste de l'atmosphère gazeuse étant constitué d'azote. Les présents procédés de traitement thermique exempt d'oxygène, de préférence des procédés de cémentation, utilisent une atmosphère contrôlée de manière précise pour réduire à un minimum l'oxydation intergranulaire, éliminer la formation de suie et de cémentite ou d'autres carbures métalliques et éviter la fragilisation par l'hydrogène.
