Abstract

La présente invention concerne des compositions et procédés destinés à la prévention, au traitement ou au contrôle de l'ostéoporose ou d'états caractérisés par une résorption osseuse accrue, et consistant en l'administration d'une quantité prophylactiquement et thérapeutiquement suffisante de la plante Cissus quadrangularis ou de ses extraits à un mammifère justifiant d'un tel traitement. De préférence, le mammifère est humain, et les compositions comprennent un extrait simple ou une combinaison de ces extraits. L'invention concerne également des extraits isolés à partir de parties de Cissus quadrangularis, l'élaboration de tels extraits, les médicaments à base de ces extraits, et l'utilisation de ces extraits et constituants pour l'élaboration d'un médicament. L'invention concerne enfin le procédé d'élaboration des extraits à partir de diverses aprties de Cissus quadrangularis.
