Abstract

The pump-holding cycle support is an Invention in the field of additional accessories for bicycles. By integrating the pump piston assembly (13) into the seat support tubing (10) a new function is added to the seat support, which now also serves as a tyre air pump. The pump-holding cycle support of the present invention comprises the seat support tubing (10), a pump cylinder (12), a pump piston assembly (13), a piston guide (40), a hollow cylinder and a pump adapter (30).

Description

PUMP-HOLDING CYCLE SEAT SUPPORT
1) AREA OF APPLICATION
According to the International Patent Classification (IPC), the Invention can be classified as follows: B 62 K 19/30 - Frame parts shaped to receive other cycle parts or accessories B 62 K 19/41 - ... for tyre pumps B 62 J 11/02 - ... for air pumps
2) TECHNICAL PROBLEM
This Invention addresses the design problem of the tyre pump so that it can be accommodated in the cycle frame tubing:
The pump design as proposed in this Invention solves the said technical problem.
3) PRIOR ART
The fact is that present-day solutions feature external mounting of the pump, on the cycle frame, meaning that the pump is attached to the cycle frame by means of supports of varying design. In the event of stronger impacts during bicycle ride the pump may fall off never to be found. Besides, the pump and the supporting devices pose a danger to the cyclist because they can cause injuries. The advantage of this Invention is that it eliminates such shortcomings of the existing known solutions
4) THE ESSENCE OF THE INVENTION
The primary purpose of the present Invention is to improve the way in which the pump is mounted on the bicycle in order to avoid the external mounting of the pump on the cycle frame and thus make the bicycle more practical for use. The secondary purpose of the Invention is to reduce the number of additional accessories on the frame and thus enhance the bicycle's integrity and visual appearance.
Other objectives and advantages of the Invention will be presented in the following description, and some will become obvious in application. The cycle seat support in this Invention comprises: the seat support tubing, the pump piston assembly, the pump piston assembly guide and the pump adapter for connection to the tyre valve. The cycle seat support is a tube which in a part of its length contains an internal barrier which hermetically seals the internal space so that it forms a pump cylinder.
The pump piston assembly inside the cylinder consists of a piston and a tube as a compression part and are mutually connected in the most appropriate way.
The pump piston assembly tubing, apart from compressing the piston into the pump cylinder and thereby displacing the air, also serves for the conveyance of the compressed air to the pump adapter.
The pump adapter, which is designed to provide a connection to standard tyre valves, is attached to the pump piston assembly tubing by a thread or in another appropriate way. The piston assembly guide, which is attached by a thread or in another appropriate way to the lower end of the seat support tubing, directs the piston assembly and enables the pump adapter to be so fixed that it does not obstruct the insertion of the seat support into the cycle frame tubing.
5) DRAWINGS The accompanying drawings should illustrate as closely as possible the basic principle of the Invention

Fig. 6 side view of the hollow cylinder
6; DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF TWO WAYS IN WHICH THE INVENTION
CAN BE REALISED Option 1
As shown in Figures 1 , 2, 3 and 4, the seat support tubing (10) in a part of its length contains the internal barrier (11 ) which hermetically seals the internal space serving as the pump cylinder (12). This cylinder houses the pump piston assembly (13) consisting of the tubing (14) which drives the pump piston (15) and at the same time serves to convey the compressed air to the pump adapter (30), the aperture of which (19) for connection to the tyre valve is designed for standard tyre valves.
The pump adapter (30) is in any appropriate way hermetically connected to the tubing (14) of the pump piston assembly (13), in this option by means of a thread (16) which is mounted on the tubing (14) of the pump piston assembly (13) and which is screwed into the opening (17) on the pump adapter (30).
When the pump is out of use and the seat support is inserted into the cycle frame tubing, the pump adapter (30), according to this option, is attached by the thread (18) or in another appropriate way to the piston assembly guide (40), thus making an integral whole with the seat support tubing (10). Option 2
As shown in Figures 5 and 6, the pump cylinder assembly can be, according to this option, so designed that inserted into the seat support tubing (10) is a hollow cylinder (20), plastic or from other appropriate material, the clamp (21 ) of which fits into a circular groove (22) inside the seat support tubing (10). 7) WAYS OF USING THE INVENTION
The Invention is used as follows: when the tyres are to be inflated, the cyclist will take the tubing together with the seat out of the cycle frame, release the adapter and connect it to the pump piston assembly tubing, with the fingers of one hand hold the adapter attached to the tyre valve and with the other hand hold the seat and operate the pump.
That is how the Invention provides a practical, useful and durable device easy to manufacture at a reasonable cost.
Experts will be aware that many structural, design and dimensional modifications can be made on the Invention without abandoning the scope and essence of the Invention.
For example, the adapter could be joint-connected to the piston tubing or by means of a fixed connection without a need for overlapping or detachment from the piston tubing. Parts of the pump-holding cycle support
