Abstract

The invention relates to a gas cooking surface, in particular a built-in or freestanding oven (1), comprising a plate (2) made of stainless steel, glass ceramic or glass and provided with circular openings (3) which form the cooking hobs of the oven. According to the invention, a support for an upper edge of a cup (8) is arranged in an edge region of at least one of the openings (3). The bottom of the cup (8) is provided with a center opening (8') through which extends a tubular section (11') of a burner (11). A distributor (12) is arrranged above the tubular section (11') of the burner (11). The cup (8) has at least approximately the form of a truncated cone.
