Abstract

L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé caractérisant le pouvoir couvrant de compositions de revêtement, comme des peintures OEM et des de finition automobiles. Le procédé concerne le stockage séquentiel dans un dispositif informatique de données de pouvoir couvrant obtenues en mesurant la différence de couleur (RVB) de réflexions de parties lumineuses et sombres de zones cibles d'un revêtement monotonique résultant d'une composition de revêtement appliquée sur un panneau de test de pouvoir couvrant, et en mesurant des épaisseurs de revêtement du revêtement monotonique qui correspondent aux zones cibles, le classement du type des données de pouvoir couvrant, la sélection d'équations de lissage applicables aux données de pouvoir couvrant classées, le lissage de l'équation sélectionnée pour correspondre aux données de pouvoir couvrant classées, et l'emplacement d'une épaisseur de pouvoir couvrant sur le revêtement monotonique qui correspond à la valeur de seuil de la différence de couleur au niveau de cet emplacement pour déterminer l'épaisseur de pouvoir couvrant de la composition de revêtement.
