Abstract

A vacuum cleaner filter assembly (1) for mounting in a vacuum cleaner dust chamber (7B) has a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter (2), and a pre-filter (3A) removably secured to the assembly, using a pull tab. A conduit (4) between the filters is configured to minimise dust contacting the conduit side of the HEPA filter (2) upon removal of the pre-filter (3B). An intermediate filter (5) in the conduit (4) provides further protection of the HEPA filter during removal and cleaning of the pre-filter and provides sound absorbtion.
