Definitions
- the invention relates to medical equipment, namely, used in traumatology and orthopedics, neurosurgery, as well as neuropathology, is intended to signal a change in the position of the human spine in the sagittal or frontal planes and can be used for training in order to develop the skill of correct posture, prevention and correction of functional disorders of posture, treatment of orthopedic diseases.
- a well-known posture corrector-simulator containing means for controlling the position of the body shell including a serially connected sensing element, a power supply and a signaling device located on clothes, RU 2081646 Cl.
- the sensing element is fixed to clothing in the area of the back bend, and the signaling device is connected to the sensitive element.
- One of the main disadvantages of this posture corrector is the significant likelihood of a “false” response due to pressure on the sensing element.
- the simulator corrector signals only about deformation in the sagittal plane and does not inform about the magnitude of the deformation.
- a device is also known that allows you to control and correct the correct posture; the device comprises a housing, a sensing element, including a flexible tube with an elastic cord extending inside it, attached with an upper end to the upper part of the body, and a lower end to the lower end of the flexible tube and a fastener to the belt; there is also an indicator (signaling device) with a switch consisting of a movable and fixed electrically conductive elements
- a neck strap is attached to the body, RU 2103955 Cl.
- the patient takes the correct posture and sets the length of the neck strap so that the movable electrically conductive element does not touch the stationary electrically conductive elements.
- the stretching of the elastic cord is reduced, and the movable electrically conductive element closes the stationary electrically conductive elements, while the alarm is triggered.
- the elastic cord stretches, the movable conductive element opens the stationary conductive elements and turns off the signaling device.
- the alarm is triggered when the elastic cord is stretched, caused by the bending of any part of the spine when tilted forward.
- control of posture in the desired area of the spine in case of its disorders associated with increased kyphosis is impossible.
- the device When bending backwards, the device does not work at all; it also does not work when the lumbar region of the spine is pulled forward in the event of a violation of posture caused by increased lordosis. In addition, the device does not allow to control postural disorders associated with bending of the spine in the frontal plane during scoliosis. In addition, the disadvantage of the prototype is that the device provides information about only two states of the spine in the positions: the contacts are closed and the contacts are open; any information on the intermediate positions of the spine during its bending is not provided by the device.
- the objective of the present invention is to provide the ability to control the correct posture, its correction by training for violations associated with pathological bending of the spine in its strictly defined sections, both in the sagittal and in the frontal planes, as well as providing the ability to control the intermediate positions of the spine.
- the sensing element is mounted on an elastic substrate that can be fixed on the patient’s trunk, while the corrector-simulator is equipped with a control unit, the input of which connected to the output of the sensing element, and the output connected to the input of the indicator; one or more additional sensing elements may be mounted on the elastic substrate; the corrector simulator may be provided with one or more additional elastic substrates, wherein additional sensitive elements mounted on additional elastic substrates; as the material of the elastic substrate can be used polyethylene or polyethylene foam, or polypropylene, or polypropylene foam, or polyurethane, or polyurethane foam, or polyethylene terephthalate, or polycarbonate, or teflon, or polystyrene, or silicone, or polyvinyl chloride; as a sensitive element, a strain gauge or a piezoelectric sensor, or
- the implementation of the distinguishing features of the invention provides important new properties of the object, which consist in providing the ability to control strictly defined parts of the spine during bending in any plane; Besides, control of intermediate conditions of the spine during its bending is ensured.
- the device’s efficiency is fundamentally increased when monitoring the condition of the spine, correcting the patient’s posture and training using the device for this.

- the posture correction exercise machine includes a sensor 1 mounted on an elastic substrate 2.
- a load cell is used as the sensor 1.
- the elastic substrate 2 is made of polyethylene, it can be made of polyethylene foam, polypropylene, polypropylene, polyurethane, polyurethane foam, polyethylene terephthalate, polycarbonate, teflon, polystyrene, silicone and polyvinyl etc.
- elements of the corrector simulator are fixed on the patient’s torso using corset 3, in the variants of FIG.
- the elastic modulus of the elastic substrate 2 is 500 N / mm
- the thickness of the elastic substrate increases irrationally, and for values of more than 1500 N / mm, the elasticity of the substrate becomes excessive.
- the simulator-corrector contains a control unit 7.
- this unit consists of a signal amplifier of a sensitive element, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), a processor, in particular, an ADSP2105, a memory element, in particular 24LC256, an output signal amplifier, and means for turning on / off the indicator 8.
- ADC analog-to-digital converter
- the input of control unit 7 connected to the output of the sensing element 1, and the output of block 7 is connected to the indicator 8.
- the device in the specific example is powered by a battery (not shown in the drawings).
- an additional sensitive element 9 is mounted on the elastic substrate.
- the corrector simulator in the embodiment of FIG. 7, 8 is equipped with two additional elastic substrates 10 and 11 with additional sensitive elements 12 and 13.
- Indicator 8 in a specific example contains a light alert element - LED 14, a sound alert - a buzzer 15, and a tactile alert - a vibrator 16.
- the connection of the control unit 7 with the sensing element 1 and the indicator 8 is possible both with the help of electric wires, and through wireless communication.
- the corrector simulator can be used in combination with a means of electrical stimulation of the back muscles.
- the device operates as follows.
- the elastic substrate 2 with the sensing element 1 located on it is fixed on the patient's body. In this case, it is necessary to install an elastic substrate so that the sensitive element is in the proposed zone of mobile deformation parallel to the spine.
- the control unit 7 a range of amplitude of movement of the spine corresponding to the normal position for the patient is set. In this range, the control unit 7 does not give a signal to the indicator 8, which corresponds to the correct position of the patient's spine. In the case when the patient violates the correct posture (for example, slouching), the sensing element 1 senses this change and transmits the corresponding signal to the control unit 7.
- this signal If the value of this signal exceeds the threshold value previously set in the control unit 7, the latter gives a signal to the indicator 8, and an audio signal is generated by the buzzer 15 and a light signal by the light-emitting diode 14.
- the signal supplied to the indicator 8 changes, a vibration signal from the vibrator 16 is added to the sound signal, and the sound signal is amplified.
- the control unit 7 processes the changes on the sensitive element 1, compares them with the preset ones and informs the patient about the change by means of the indicator 8. Setting in the unit 7 of the ranges that determine the undesirable position of the spine can be performed on the control unit 7 manually or by electronic computing machine.
- an additional sensitive element 9 is installed on the elastic substrate 2 in the projection of the involved spine.
- the control unit 7 control in this case can be carried out for each department of the spine separately.
- additional elastic substrates 10, 11 with additional sensitive elements 12, 13 are installed. Additional elastic substrates 10, 11 with additional sensitive elements 12, 13 are installed on the lateral or posterolateral surface torso in the area of deformation; their installation on the opposite (contralateral) side of the body is also possible.
- the amplitude of the movement of the spine in the sagittal and frontal planes is detected by additional sensitive elements located in the corresponding plane.
- memory elements are installed, which allows you to save information to evaluate the effectiveness of measures aimed at restoring the patient's correct posture, and timely adjust them.
