- the purpose of the present invention is to provide a heating element of the type defined above, whereof the heating resistor, which is able to operate at up to 600 0 C, is equipped with means of electrical connection having a conformation that is particularly simple and functional.
- the aforesaid electrical-connection means include: a screw, which is inserted through a hole of the.heating plate and has a head sunk within the latter, being insulated therefrom by a purposely provided ceramic washer, and a threaded stem projecting from the aforesaid base layer in a position corresponding to a widened end contact pad of said path of electrically conductive material; a clamping assembly with nut and lock nut screwed on the threaded stem; and an annular terminal of a supply cable tightened with a nut and hence in electrical contact with said widened contact pad.

- the surface of the plate (1) opposite to the hot runner H, designated by (2) is coated with a base layer of electrically insulating and thermally conductive material, typically alumina or zirconia, having a thickness of approximately 100 ⁇ m.
- Said electrically insulating layer (2) is conveniently applied on the surface of the plate (1), previously roughened, for example by means of sand-blasting, and then subjected to a process of chemical nickel-plating, which prevents phenomena of corrosion, or else by machining and then subjected to a process of galvanic nickel-plating by means of spraying techniques, such as plasma spray, high- velocity oxy-fuel spray, focused cold spray, and the like.
- the material of which the plate (1) is made will conveniently be a metal or metal alloy having a coefficient of thermal expansion compatible with that of the electrically insulating base layer (2) and of the subsequent layers.
- at least one electrical heating resistor made up of a path (3) of electrically conductive material having a high coefficient of variation of resistance with temperature, e.g., nickel.
- the electrical resistor defined by the path (3) is also conveniently applied by means of spraying techniques by setting on the previously formed base layer (2) an appropriate mask provided with at least one through slot that reproduces the path (3) or by means of other equivalent methods.
- the electrically conductive material thus spayed is typically Ni, Fe-Ni, Ni- Cr, TiOx, Monel, or equivalents.
- the corresponding thickness may, for example, be in the region of 50 ⁇ m.
- the base layer (2) and the path (3) that defines the electrical heating resistor will be conveniently coated with a second insulating layer, typically of alumina or zirconia, also applied by means of the same spraying techniques.
- the second layer of insulating material may have a thickness of approximately 100 ⁇ m.
- the second layer of electrically insulating but intrinsically porous material will be coated with a dielectric material, for example, a vitreous paste deposited by serigraphy and then remolten at a temperature of higher than 500°C.
- a further layer for example, consisting of an anti-emissive gold flash.
- the path that defines the electrical heating resistor (3) is then incorporated between two layers of electrically insulating material, and in use, electrical supply thereof produces heating of the plate (1) and hence, by conduction, heating of the hot runner H on which the plate (1) is fixed.
- the surface of the plate (1) in contact with the hot runner H may be coated with a thin layer of gold plating, or else between the plate (1) and the hot runner H there may be set a thin copper lamina, annealed and pickled, having a thickness in the region of 100 ⁇ m.
- Fixing of the heating plate (1) to the hot runner H may be obtained in a rigid way, for example by means of screws (6), made of the same material as that of the chambers, or else by means of elastic elements (20), such as springs or Belleville washers, etc., designed not only to enable recovery of the various thermal expansions, but also to enable relative movements thereof, in the case where they are made of different material.
- each electrical-connection terminal (5) of the electrical heating resistor (3) includes a screw (7) made of the same material as the plate and nickel-plated, inserted through a through hole (8) of the plate (1) and having a tightening head (9) sunken within a recess (10) of said plate (1), formed by the part in contact with the hot runner H.
- Set between the head (9) of the screw (7) and the plate (1) is an insulating washer (11), made of ceramic material (macor, steatite, etc.) and of dimensions such as to prevent any contact of the aforesaid screw with the plate.
- the threaded stem of the screw (7) projects from the base layer (2) through the end contact pad (4) of the path (3) and carries a clamping assembly made up of a nut (13a), tightened against the contact pad (4) with the interposition of a metal washer (typically made of gold-plated copper) (14), and by a lock nut 13. Gripped between the lock nut (13) and the nut (15), with interposition of a pair of washers (16) and (17), is an annular terminal (18) of an electrical supply cable (19).

Abstract
L'invention concerne un élément chauffant pour appareils de moulage par injection de matériaux plastiques, comprenant une plaque (1) en un matériau thermoconducteur, et caractérisé par un traitement amélioré de préparation de la surface de la plaque, en vue de la neutralisation des phénomènes de corrosion. Ladite plaque présente un système de chauffage intégré (basé sur la demande de brevet Italien No IT-A-TO2004A000253 et la demande de brevet U.S. No US-A-2005/0257367), de manière à rendre l'élément chauffant capable de fonctionner à des températures atteignant 600°C, avec glaçage éventuel pour sceller la couche finale isolante d'Al2O3 et mince revêtement d'or final anti-émissif. L'élément chauffant présente également des connexions électriques qui sont fiables aux températures élevées, ainsi que des systèmes de fixation à un canal chauffé (H), également dans le cas où les matériaux de base de la plaque et du canal chauffé sont différents.
