Definitions
- This invention is related to a tunnel opener to be utilized for open tunnel in the tissue during operations.
- needle is tried to be oriented by prickling an apparatus holding a needle tip on the flesh and with a movement at random toward to a finger put on a certain place where the needle is expected to be pull off.
- apparatus indicated within the Japan Patent No JP10272139 can be a reference document for the state of the art.
- Apparatus of the invention explained via the said application is used as guide for catheder and endoscope. It is known that these kinds of apparatus are used during operations.
- needle is not always oriented to the desired directions and this treatment is required for a certain experience.
- the thought of to manage to perform this treatment duly makes operator stressed and sometimes causes to some undesired damages in the operation area by unexpected tissue contusions.
- This invention aims to provide an interstitial tunnel opener enabling operator to perform more comfortably and to be more confident about the result.

- Scissors type, ring type and locked scissor type embodiment of the invention are explained as follows.
- Invention consists of handle (1), superior arm of handle lock (2), inferior arm of handle (3), rotation point of handle lock (4), rotation lock (5), needle arm (6), receiving arm (7), needle (8), pinhole (9), notch (10), uneven surface (11), and notch slot (12).
- Safety tissue tunnel opener has two handles (1) in the shape of scissor handle. There is a handle lock mechanism to be enable handles to lock automatically on the rear part of the scissor when handles are close.
- handle lock mechanism to be enable handles to lock automatically on the rear part of the scissor when handles are close.
- indentation and salient located face to face on the superior arm of handle lock (2) and inferior arm of handle lock (3) clamp together and lock the handle.
- superior arm of handle lock (2) having rotation point of handle lock (4) is pressed slightly with finger, thence indentation and salient are fell apart and lock is enabled to get opened.
- needle arm (6) and receiving arm (7) attached to handles and each others via rotation point (5) in front of the handles.
- tips of needle arm (6) and receiving arm (7) are open as opening of blades of scissor; when handles (1) are close, tips of needle arm (6) and receiving arm (7) are close as closing of blades of scissor.
- needle arm (6) and receiving arm (7) are close; shape of ellipse or circular may be occur.
- Needle (8) is located at the tip of needle arm and pinhole (9) is located at the tip of the needle.
- notch (10) just at the tip of needle arm where needle and needle arm connected and outer surface of needle arm and there is an uneven surface (11) slightly above of the notch.
- notch slot (12) to receive notch at the tip of receiving arm.
- Notch (10), notch slot (12) and uneven surface (11) constitute jaw lock mechanism, when needle arm (6) and receiving arm (7) are in close position notch (10) provide to lock of two parts by placing in notch slot (12).
- uneven surface (11) is slightly pressed by finger, thus needle arm (6) bends inwardly and notch (10) leaves notch slot (12), thereby lock opens.
- Pin of the receiving arm is empty, so point of the needle enters into this hole when arms close.
- tip of the receiving arm (7) is placed such way to rotate around the bone and in a place where the needle (8) is desired to be retracted.
- Handles (1) are closed; hence needle arm (6) and receiving arm (7) are enabled to connect to each other. During this connection, needle arm (6) pricking onto the flesh makes path for itself and point of the needle enters into receiving arm(7); at the same time notch (10) on the needle arm locks safety tissue tunnel opener by entering into notch slot (12). If handle lock is available, this mechanism also performs locking procedure.
- Safety tissue tunnel opener whose arms close and in lock position, are rotated around the bone and point of the needle is pull off from the operating area. After thread with which mesh is tied at the back is placed in the needle pin (9), apparatus is rotated on own centre in lock position till to its first position and lock is opened, and thread retracted from flesh easily with needle. Hence, thread, consequently mesh is pulled off safely from the opened tunnel.
- Ring embodiment with body which is another embodiment of invention is explained in the following.
- Ring embodiment with body of safety tissue tunnel opener of invention basically consists of;
- a needle receiving point (14) receiving a needle (8) and having a needle hole in which thread(8) can be fitted, - Needle stopper (19) to stop the needle (8) while moving backwards and
- Finger salient (20) to be used as a support during the use of safety tissue tunnel opener
- Needle arm (6) is a curved structure in the shape of semi-circle.
- Body (13) is a linear structure on which needle arm (6) cover. When needle arm (6) and body (13) touch, a structure in the shape of "D" occurs.
- Body rotation point (17) to which one of the points of the needle arm (6) is attached, is found on the one side of the body (13). Movement of the needle arm (6) which can be rotated freely around the body rotation point (17) is restricted by needle stopper (19) and needle receiving point (14).
- needle arm (6) While needle arm (6) is opening outwardly from the body (13), needle stopper (17) protruding from the body connection point (17) in respect of needle arm (6) inclination restricts opening movement. Closing movement ends up when the point of the needle arm (6) which is not attached to body (13) contacts with the receiving point located on the other end of the body (13) while needle arm (6) is closing over the body.
- Lock system On the body on the purpose that needle (8) can be remain fixed after placing in the needle hole (18).
- Lock system consists of a lock stand (15) attached to the body (13) and a lock nail (16) with a right triangle cross-section placed on lock stand (15). Inclined side of lock nail (16) is placed toward to inner side of needle arm (6) in order to enable needle arm (6) penetrate easily.
- lock stand (15) It is possible to stretch lock stand (15) by pressing on lock stand to the tip that needle arm (6) gets free from lock nail (16).
- material used for manufacturing lock stand (15) shall be chosen as a material with a high elastic modulus.
- notch (10) located at the tip of needle (8) provides the needle (8) to lock within the needle hole (18), it may also provide to needle (8) to pull off by threading it.
- the invention has a finger indentation (20) located under the body (13) in order to grasp easily with hand.
- Finger indentation (20) is designed as a projection under the body rotation point (17) to perform control of needle arm (6) easily.
