Abstract

This invention relates to a device for trapping and destroying insects like mosquitoes. It consists of a movable stand (1) and a blowing unit. Light sources (4) for attracting insects are located above the blowing unit which may be a suction fan (2). A metallic mesh (8) is provided beneath the blowing unit. A bag (3) of fine mesh made of cotton is suspended downwardly from the frame of the blowing unit. The bag houses an ionization unit to develop high voltage between two points destroy insects that are blown into the bag by means of the blowing unit. The bag may be detached periodically for cleaning.
