Abstract

The invention relates to a cooling means, for medical and non-medical applications, and has for its objective to provide more rapid cooling than can be achieved by conventional ice buckets, ice packs or simply placing the item to be cooled in a refrigerator. The objective is met by a construction comprising a cover (1) to overlay or surround the item(s), one or more spaces being provided by the cover (1) to allow for the flow of air, an inlet opening through the cover (1) in communication with the one or more spaces, and a drivable fan (5) located on the cover (1) in alignment with the inlet opening to the spaces.
