Abstract

The invention concerns a bone screw (1) comprising a stem (3) with a threaded portion (9), said stem being mounted with a head (5) enabling the screw to be rotated or driven in by impingement. Said bone screw (1) has a rough stem portion (11), located between the threaded portion and the screw head. To form said rough portion (11), the method consists in providing directly in the material constituting the stem, alternating depressions (13) and protrusions (15), preferably by forming the stem (3) with constant-volume material and, in particular, by cross-knurling.
