Abstract

La présente invention divulgue des modes de réalisation d'un procédé de production comprenant l'utilisation d'un microréacteur pour produire du biodiesel. Par exemple, le procédé peut comprendre la circulation d'un premier fluide comprenant un alcool et d'un second fluide comprenant une huile vers le microréacteur. Les alcools, typiquement mais pas nécessairement, sont des alcools aliphatiques inférieurs comprenant le méthanol, l'éthanol, le propanol, le butanol, l'alcool amylique ou des combinaisons de ceux-ci. La production de biodiesel peut être réalisée en conditions supercritiques, de telles conditions étant typiquement déterminées par rapport au constituant d'alcool. Des sources appropriées de produits pétroliers comprennent le soja, le suif et la graisse non comestibles, le maïs, le suif et le saindoux comestibles, le coton, la graine de colza, le tournesol, la canola, la cacahuète, le carthame et des combinaisons de ceux-ci. Des catalyseurs peuvent être utilisés pour faciliter la production du biodiesel, comme les oxydes métalliques, les hydroxydes métalliques, les carbonates de métal, les carbonates métalliques d'alcool, les alcoxydes, les acides minéraux et les enzymes. La conversion de l'huile en biodiesel augmente typiquement à mesure que la durée de séjour moyenne dans le microréacteur augmente.
