Abstract
The invention concerns a machine for laying optical cable around a suspension strand. It comprises a carriage (2) consisting of a chassis (6) having first and second ends and two wheels (8, 10) mounted at the ends of the chassis (6) and adapted to run on the suspension strand (22); a rotating assembly (4) comprising a rotor (48) rotatably mounted on the chassis (6) about an axis of rotation; means for driving the rotor in rotation about its axis of rotation. The carriage (2) comprising a driving unit (25) which supplies the power required for moving the carriage (2) and for driving in rotation the rotor (48).
