Abstract

A new and improved wall panel mounting system, and a method of removably installing a plurality of wall panels so as to form a vertical wall member which is fixedly attached upon a fixed support wall, is disclosed. The plurality of wall panels are adapted to be disposed within a grid-type arrangement comprising a plurality of vertically or longitudinally oriented columns and a plurality of transversely or horizontally oriented rows. A plurality of transversely or horizontally oriented extrusions or rail members, having substantially L-shaped cross-sectional configurations with upwardly and downwardly projecting lip members disposed upon the horizontally oriented free end portions thereof, are adjustably mounted at predetermined, vertically spaced locations upon the fixed support wall such that the upwardly and downwardly projecting lip members can respectively engage lower and upper grooved regions of the wall panels so as to thereby fixedly mount the wall panels upon the fixed support wall and thereby, together, define the completed wall member.
