Abstract

The invention relates to the use of wetting agents, which are selected from the group consisting of alkoxylated fatty alcohols with 8 to 15 carbon atoms in the alkyl radical and with a statistical mean of 3 to 19 oxaalkandiyl groups in the molecule, in structurally viscous clear varnish slurries. The invention also relates to a structurally viscous clear varnish slurry containing solid and/or highly viscous particles that are dimensionally stable under storage and application conditions, with the following monomodal particle size distribution measured according to the laser diffraction method: D (v, 0.1 ) = 0.8 to 1.2 µm; D (v, 0.5) = 1.5 to 2.5 µm; D (v, 0.9) = 2.5 to 3.6 µm and Span = {[D (v, 0.9)] - [D (v, 0.1 )]}/[D (v, 0.5)] = 0.8 to 1.5. Lastly, the invention relates to a method for producing the structurally viscous clear varnish slurry and to the use thereof.
