Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a thermal-insulating liner, particularly adapted for use in packages and/or logistic services for transport of particularly sensitive or delicate goods.
  • liners which are made up of thermal-insulating material, such as polystyrene foam; these liners are interposed between the package walls and the goods, and can also house cooling elements such as dry ice pockets or the like.
  • known liners are of great thickness, which in turn will condition the package choice and therefore will give rise to a great bulkiness (even when objects of small sizes are transported) .
  • the important sizes of .the thermal- insulating liners of known type involve use of great storage spaces; in other words, the packages and liners of known type for said packages are to be stored in very big environments waiting for being used, which will adversely affect the operating costs as well as optimisation of the available work spaces.
  • liners of known type must be designed and made with rather complicated shapes, since complicated insertions between the different polystyrene pieces are often required; this involves great expenses for the moulds and a non-negligible difficulty for the operators when a complete package is to be prepared.
  • a further disadvantageous element for liners of known type resides in that, in spite of the complicated shape chosen for the liner, often penetration of air from the outside into the container occurs just the same, which will clearly bring about an undesirable heat transportation resulting in the goods losing their "low-temperature" state.
