Abstract

The invention concerns a method for preparing chitin nanoparticles wherein copolymer chains of glucosamine and of N-acetyl-D-glucosamine bound by a β,(1→4) bond, having an average degree of acetylation DA not less than 50 % and an average degree of weight polymerization DPW not less than 1500, are dispersed at a concentration C not less than the entangling concentration C* of the copolymer chains, in an aqueous solution with pH ranging between 1 and 8, said solution being obtained by mixing in aqueous solution an acid and a salt.
