Abstract

A shoe cleaner (20, 120, 220, 320) for retractably attaching under a door (22) of a vehicle (24). An enclosure (126) is attached under the door (22) of the vehicle (24). A brush assembly (127) is retractably and extendably attached to the enclosure (126). A track drive (128) retracts and extends the brush assembly (127) relative to the enclosure. A brush drive (130) spins the brush assembly (127). A worm gear (150) of the track drive (128) is operatively attached to a motor (152) of the track drive (130) and to a pair of arms (144) of the brush assembly (127) to allow the pair of arms (144) and at least one brush (142) of the brush assembly (127) to extend from the enclosure (126), when polarity of the motor (152) is such that it rotates in one direction, until such time that a pin (170) of the track drive (128) contacts an extension limit micro-switch (160) of the track drive (128) stopping the motor (148) and to retract into the enclosure (126), when the polarity of the motor (148) is reversed such that it rotates in the other direction, until such time that the pin (170) contacts a retraction limit micro-switch (162) of the track drive (128) stopping the motor (148).
