Description
PROCESS, PRODUCTS AND PRODUCTS APPLICATION FROM NYPA FRUCTICANS PLANT
TECHNICAL FIELD
A process for utilization of nypa fructican sap and its fruits which involve fermentation and membrane separation system for producing nypa sugar-based for beverages and health foods, nypa bioethanol for fuel related industry, nypa vinegar for natural weed killer and nypa fruit juice for health improvement.
BACKGROUND ART
Nypa fructicans or nypa palm or nypa plant potential as commodity industrial crop for producing alternative source of raw material or biological-based for replacement of fossil-based industries which is getting more expensive and depletion. Present developments of biological-based industries are based on crops mat involve plantation and harvesting the whole plant of the farming cycle and also related to food industry that made an uneconomical and high cost. Nypa fructicans plants which produce sap continuously that contained sugar between 10 to 20 percent can be a good solution and alternative industrial raw material compare to the industry that utilize sugar from sugarcane and beet, starch from corn, wheat, tapioca and sorghum or cellulose from biomass.
Nypa sap which produce from a decapitated inflorescence by cutting and tapping of the fruit stalk can be direct process to beverages, sugar-based, bioethanol and its derivatives, vinegar, yeast and its derivatives and carbon dioxide gas. The most
importantly is the direct fermentation of the nypa sap which is direct produce from nypa plant can be practice compare to others biological-based or crops that required plant harvesting, milling, sugar extraction and additional fermentation conversion and chemical process before fermentation to bioethanol and vinegar.
Nypa bioethanol was wide application which can be as alternative fuel for direct or blending application in petrol and diesel, as fuel additive, in fuel cell and for production of ethyltertierybutylether(ETBE) and ethyl ester of biodiesel. Nypa vinegar can be used for producing natural weed killer, cleaners and ailments remedy products.
Others are by-products such as green carbon dioxide gas from the fermentation and chitin-glucan from the yeast. While nypa fruit stalk can be utilize for production of herbal fruit juice which has function for health improvement especially diebatic patient.
Utilization of nypa plant will accomplish the target for development of supplying raw material that is sustainable, renewable, more energy efficient, environmentally friendly, eco-fiiendly, multi-purpose or application and the most important can solve energy dependence and poverty which can be plant in any non-productive land.
DISCLOSURE OF ENfVENTION
The present invention provide a complete agrobiotech processing system with zero waste from nypa plant for producing bioethanol, vinegar, green carbon dioxide gas, nypa sugar-based products and nypa herbal-based products and the application of each products that derived from nypa sap and nypa fruit stalk as shown in Figure 1.
