Description

Description
SYSTEM, APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING
SHARED INFORMATION BY CONNECTING A TAG TO THE
INTERNET RESOURCE AND COMPUTER READABLE
MEDIUM PROCESSING THE METHOD Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a method for connecting a tag to an Internet resource, and more particularly, to a system, apparatus and method for providing shared information by connecting a tag to an Internet resource, and a computer readable medium processing the method. Background Art
[2] In modern information-oriented society, computers and Internet, as media for delivery or spread of various kinds of information, are requisite for new communications. However, it is now under actual circumstances that computer and Internet users are requested to not only protect themselves from bad effect and dysfunction of the information-orientation against convenience by the information-orientation but also adapt themselves to suddenly changing circumstances with their continuous change.
[3] At present, the Internet plays a role as a new media that allows real time communication between an enterprise and an individual and real time inter- individual communication, not as a network interconnecting a computer and another computer. Accordingly, users are increasingly interested in methods of effectively storing and managing various kinds of contents found in the Internet.
[4] As one of the methods of effectively storing and managing various kinds of contents found by users in the Internet, there exists a method using a bookmark in which address information of found contents is classified by category and stored in a user s terminal or a method in which a user directly collects desired contents and stores the collected contents in his terminal.
[5] In general, a Web browser provides an Internet user with the above-mentioned bookmark function (i.e., favorite menu) in which the Internet user stores an URL (Uniform Resource Locator) address of a Web site to be visited again, among Web sites that were visited, in a local memory of his computer in the form of a directory (in case of Internet Explorer) or a file (in case of Navigator), and then, when the Internet user selects the bookmark for revisit to the Web site without inputting the stored URL address of the Web site, a Web page of the Web site automatically appears.
[6] However, in the above-mentioned bookmark function, only the address information of the Web site visited by the Internet user is stored without further spread of the address information. In addition, as the number of Web pages registered in the bookmark is increased, if the Internet user does not set a category and classify the Web pages by the set category, it is not easy to use the registered Web pages properly.
[7] In addition, since the bookmark function is merely to classify Web pages by a category, it is difficult to find a link between Web pages. Further, since this bookmark function allows the Internet user to look for only the previously found information, it is difficult to meet a need for more information acquisition of the Internet user. Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[8] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a system, apparatus and method for providing shared information by connecting a tag to an Internet resource, which is capable of spreading the Internet resource by connecting the tag to the Internet resource and sharing the tag among Internet users, and a computer readable medium processing the method.
[9] It is another object of the present invention to provide a system, apparatus and method for providing shared information by connecting a tag to an Internet resource, which is capable of spreading an information cyber space for the Internet resource by connecting the tag to the Internet resource and including information related to the Internet resource in the tag, and a computer readable medium processing the method.
[10] It is still another object of the present invention to provide a system, apparatus and method for providing shared information by connecting a tag to an Internet resource, which is capable of spreading an information cyber space for the Internet resource by connecting the tag to the Internet resource and including information on a link of the Internet resource to another Internet resource related to the Internet resource in the tag, and a computer readable medium processing the method. [29] Fig. 11 is a view showing a method of using a Web page connected to a created tag in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. Mode for the Invention
[30] Conventionally, there has been suggested a method, such as a bookmark (or favorite menu), in which Internet Web pages are classified by keywords, and the classified Web pages are stored in a local database of a user s computer or an enterpriser s server on Web. In the present invention, one or more tags are created for an Internet resource (for example, Web page, music, moving picture, service, etc.), and a cyber activity space related to the Internet resource is provided for each of the generated tags. To assist in understanding the present invention, the concept of the present invention will be described with reference to Fig. 1 in comparison with the concept of the conventional bookmark.
[31] In the following description, one or more cyber spaces connected to each Internet resource is referred to as a tag which has a meaning of label. However, the tag used in the present invention is different in its meaning from a tag which is used in an ordinary sense. Also, in the present invention, a service of providing the tag is referred to as an Iuum service. In the present invention, the term Iuum has a meaning of linkable and accumulation. Also, a cyber space created through a tag connected to each Internet resource is referred to as a tag space or an Iuum page.
[32] Fig. 1 is a view showing a comparison of concept between a conventional bookmark and an Iuum service of the present invention.
[33] Referring to Fig. 1, a conventional bookmark (or favorite menu) classifies keywords
101, each including Web pages 102, by a category 100 forming one or more hierarchical structures. Specifically, when a user selects a bookmark function provided in a Web browser or the like in order to bookmark a Web page of a particular Web site, an address (URL or URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) and a title of the bookmarked Web page are stored in a local database of the user according to a category 100 or a keyword 101 specified by the user. Accordingly, when the user wants to visit the bookmarked Web page, the user can visit the bookmarked Web page by selecting the stored title of the Web page from a bookmark menu of a Web browser installed in this computer.
[34] On the other hand, a tag 111 created by an Iuum service of the present invention has a dependency on a Web page 110. When the tag 111 is created in the Web page 110, contents of the tag 111 are disclosed to general users irrespective of a user who created the tag 111. In addition, the tag 111 may be plurally created in the Web page 110. Accordingly, the tag 111 of the present invention may have a similarity to the keyword 101 of the bookmark in it is mapped to the Web page, but has a great difference in its structure, use and concept from the keyword 101.
[35] In addition, in the bookmark, since contents of the bookmark are set by individuals and are stored in their respective local database, the contents can not shared among the individuals. Although the contents may be shared among the individuals, the contents can not be used beyond a keyword-based classification. However, the tag 111 in the Iuum service of the present invention can be shared among users who access the Web page since it has the dependency on the Web page. In addition, according to an embodiment of the present invention, since an extension space containing information related to the Web page is provided in the tag, information from a plurality of users who access the Web page can be collected. In addition, since relations between Internet resources (for example, Web pages) are established through a link between different tags, information can be extended and a variety of additional services can be created.
[36] Hereinafter, the concept of the Iuum service according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Fig. 2.
[37] Fig. 2 is a view explaining the concept of an Iuum service system that provides shared information by connecting a tag to an Internet resource in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Fig. 2, an Iuum service system of the present invention may comprise a plurality of Web sites 200, a network 210, a user terminal 220, an Iuum service server 230, a tag information database 240, etc.
[38] First, when the user terminal 220 accesses a particular Web site 200 via the network
210 in order to receive a Web page from the Web site 200 and create a tag in the Web page, the user terminal requests the Iuum service server 230 to create the tag. In this case, the tag creation request may be made through a tool bar or a client application such as ActiveX, which is separately installed in the user terminal 220, or other methods.
[39] According to the tag creation request from the user terminal 220, the Iuum service server 230 creates an Iuum page as a tag input tool and provides the created Iuum page to the user terminal 220. Then, the user terminal 220 inputs information related to the tag through the provided Iuum page and transfers the inputted information to the Iuum service server 230. Finally, the Iuum service server 230 links the information related to the tag with an address of a set resource (for example, an address (URL or URI) of a Web page) and stores the linked information in the tag information database 240.
[40] According to the embodiment of the present invention, the tag may be plurally created for a single Internet resource by a plurality of users, and any user who accesses the Internet resource may create a new tag, read one or more previously created tags, or add various kinds of information to the created tag.
[41] Specifically, when another user terminal 220 that accesses the Web site 200 want to read or edits a tag created in a particular Web page of the Web site 200, it requests the Iuum service server 230 to provide the created tag. According to this request, the Iuum service server 230 retrieves the tag information database 240 to check whether or not the tag created in the Web page is included in the tag information database 240. If it is checked that one or more tags created in the Web page are included in the tag information database 240, information on the one or more created tags is provided to the requesting user terminal 220. Then, the user terminal 220 may read or edit the information on the provided tags or add different information to the information on the provided tags. In addition, by adding information on a link with other tags or other Internet resources related to the provided tags, a relation between tags can be established.
[42] In this manner, information on particular Internet resources (for example, Web page) from diverse users can be collected, and the information can be easily spread through the establishment of relation between the Internet resources. Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the following detailed description, concrete description on related functions and/or constructions will be omitted if it is deemed that the functions and/or constructions may unnecessarily obscure the gist of the present invention.
[43] First, structure and detailed functions of a system according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Figs. 3 to 5. Fig. 3 is a view illustrating a system that provides shared information by connecting a tag to an Internet resource in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Fig. 3, an Iuum service system according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise a plurality of Web sites 300, a service provider terminal 310, Internet 320, a user terminal 330, a Web server 340, a network server 350, an Iuum service server 360, a database server 370, etc.
[44] As described above, the user terminal 330 accesses a particular Web site 300 via the
Internet 320 and receives Internet resources, such as Web pages, from the Web site 300. On the other hand, an Iuum service provider constructs the Web server 340, the network server 350, the Iuum service server 360, the database server 370, etc. for Iuum service. The Web server 340 offers various service menus to a user who accesses the Iuum service provider for Iuum service, or offers Web services to service users through the Internet 320.
[45] When a dedicated client software is installed in the user terminal 330 in order to provide the Iuum service of the present invention easily, the network server 350 communicates with the dedicated client software installed in the user terminal 330 and forms an interface between the user terminal 330 and a service provider of the Web site 300.
[46] According to requests from users, the Iuum service server 360 creates various tags, manages the created tags, searches information related to the tags from the database server 370, and provides the searched information to the users. The database server 370 stores the information related to the tags created by the users and various kinds of additional information related to the tags.
[47] Fig. 4 is a view showing a detailed configuration of the Iuum service server 360 in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Fig. 4, the Iuum service server 360 may be configured by a plurality of execution modules to provide various kinds of Iuum services related to tags. For example, the Iuum service server 360 may comprise a member management module 410, an Iuum input/output module 420, an XML (extensible Markup Language) standard interface module 430, a template module 440, etc.

[50] The XML standard interface module 430 provides an XML interface function using an XML standard interface means in order to facilitate data exchange between the user terminal 330 and the Iuum service server 360. Accordingly, the XML standard interface module 430 may comprise an XML scheme defining part 431, a server side XML converting part 432, a client side XML converting part 433, an XML data input/ output processing part 434, etc.
[51] The template module 440 creates or manages templates provided in order for user to create, read and add tags without difficulty. Accordingly, the template module 440 may comprise an Iuum type managing part 441, a template type managing part 442, a skin managing part 443, a template creating part 444, etc.
[52] Fig. 5 is a view showing detailed functions of a tag connected to an Internet resource in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Fig. 5, in the embodiment of the present invention, by including various kinds of the above- mentioned tag information in tags connected to various Internet resources, the in- formation on the Internet resources can be spread.
[53] For example, when a tag is created in a particular Internet resource, for example, a
Web page, a separate tag space (i.e., Iuum page) 500 corresponding to the created tag is provided to users. Accordingly, the users can acquire and provide various kinds of information through one or more tag spaces created in the Internet resource.
[54] The tag space 500 may include various information regions related to the Internet resource to which the tag is connected, for example, regions such as a subject 510 of the Internet resource, a keyword 520, an opinion 530 and a related link 540.
[55] The subject region 510 shows a subject of a relevant Internet resource or a tag related to the Internet resource, and the keyword region 520 shows one or more words which can represent the tag. It is preferable that a user who creates the tag input and sets the subject or keyword region 510 or 520.
[56] The opinion region 530 is a space in which users 550 who access the Internet resource and confirm the tag publish their opinions. Various kinds of information on the Internet resource provided by the users 550 can be collected in the opinion region 530, and any users can read and record the information collected in the opinion region 530.
[57] The related link region 540 is a region containing information that links the tag to other tags or Internet resources related to the tag. Accordingly, through the related link region 540, the tag can be easily connected to other Internet resources 560, 570 and 580, and one or more tags 561, 562 and 563 can be created in the Internet resources 560, 570 and 580, respectively. At this time, the link information linkable through the related link region 540 may be any Internet resources such as news, electronic commerce, contents and so on.
[58] Hereinafter, a process of performing the Iuum service of the present invention will be described with reference to Figs. 6 to 8.
[59] Fig. 6 is a flow chart illustrating a process of connecting a tag to an Internet resource in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Fig. 6, first, when the user terminal 330 accesses the Web site server 300 at Step S601, it receives an Internet resource, such as a Web page, from the Web site server 300 at Step S602.
[60] Then, when the user terminal 330 wants to create a tag in the received Internet resource, it requests the Iuum service server 360 to create the tag for the Internet resource at Step S603. According to the request, the Iuum service server 360 creates a separate tag space, that is, an Iuum page, at Step S604, and then, provides the created Iuum page to the user terminal 330 at Step S605.
[61] Next, the user terminal 330 receives the Iuum page for the Internet resource from the Iuum service server 360, inputs information related to the Internet resource (for example, subject, keyword, opinion, related link, etc.) in respective information input regions of the Iuum page, and transfers the inputted information to the Iuum service server 360 at Step S606.
[62] Finally, the Iuum service server 360 stores the information related to the tag, which is inputted and transferred by the user terminal 330, in a database at Step S607. At this time, the inputted tag information is stored with the Internet resource linked thereto. In addition, as described above, the tag may be plurally created for the same Internet resource. Accordingly, a user who tries to read a tag created in the Internet resource may receive information on a plurality of tags.
[63] Fig. 7 is a flow chart illustrating a process of checking a tag connected to an
Internet resource in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Fig. 7, the tag created according to the process shown in Fig. 6 can be checked by the same user or other users according to the following process.
[64] First, when the user terminal 330 accesses the Web site server 300 at Step S701, it receives an Internet resource, such as a Web page, from the Web site server 300 at Step S702. Then, when the user terminal 330 wants to read a tag created in the received Internet resource, it requests the Iuum service server 360 to provide the tag previously created in the Internet resource at Step S703. According to the request, the Iuum service server 360 retrieves a database in which the tag is stored, and confirms whether or not there exists the tag linked to the Internet resource in the database at Step S704.
[65] If it is confirmed that there exists the tag linked to the Internet resource in the database, the Iuum service server 360 provides the tag to the requesting user terminal 330 at Step S705. In this case, as described above, if a plurality of tags is linked to the Internet resource, a user may receive information on the plurality of tags.
[66] Next, an Iuum page window is created in the user terminal 330 that received the tag information at Step S706. Through the Iuum page window in which the tag information is included for each region, the tag information can be read, or new tag formation for each region can be added. The tag information newly added through the Iuum page window is transferred to the Iuum service server 360 at Step S707, and then, the Iuum service server 360 that received the tag information stores the added tag information in a relevant database at Step S708.
[67] On the other hand, the creation and reading of the tag according to the embodiments shown in Figs. 6 and 7 may be easily attained through a separate client application program provided by a service provider. For example, when a tool bar for creation and reading of the tag is installed in the user terminal 330, a user can create and read the tag without difficulty. For example, when the user clicks a tag creation button of the tool bar in a particular Web page, information related the tag creation is transferred to the Iuum service server 360, and the tag and an Iuum page window are automatically created in the user terminal 330.
[68] Fig. 8 is a flow chart illustrating a process of creating an Iuum page using a tool bar in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Fig. 8, when a user clicks a tag creation button of a tool bar in an Internet resource, such as a particular post or blog (or Internet caf ), through a terminal input/output part at Step S 801, a tag creation event is generated, and a function par of the tool bar transmits an address (for example, URL or URI) of a current page to the Iuum service server 360 at Step S802.
[69] The Iuum service server 360 receives the address of the current page, generates a temporary tag ID and stores the ID in a database at Step S 803, and transmits information of a script character string (for example, a RSS (Really Simple Syndication) address identification variable, a writing title identification variable), etc.) for information to be inserted as various kinds of information to be inputted in the tag, to the tool bar function part at Step S804.
[70] The tool bar function part receives the script character string, inserts the received script character string, and provides the script character string to the user terminal input/output part at Step S 805. The user terminal input/output part confirms the script character string and registers the tag in the Internet resource at Step S806, and confirms completion of the registration at Step S807. On the other hand, when post completion by the user terminal input/output part is detected at Step S 808, the tool bar function part transmits information of an RSS address identification value such as a blog ID, and a writing title value, etc. to the Iuum service server 360 at Step S809.
[71] Upon receiving the information, the Iuum service server 360 parses a relevant RSS document at Step S810. That is, the Iuum service server 360 extracts a title, link, and description of the latest post and checks whether or not the title has consentaneity. Then, the Iuum service server 360 transmits the Iuum creation page to the user terminal input/output part at Step S811. In this case, information of the extracted title, URL (or URI), URL description, etc. may be indicated as a default in the Iuum creation page.
[72] The user terminal input/output part receives the Iuum creation page, confirms an
Iuum creation pop-up window at Step S812, and creates an Iuum page. At this time, Iuum creation request information is transmitted to the Iuum service server 360 at Step S813. Then, according to the request, the Iuum service server 360 creates Iuum information at Step S814, and provides a result of Iuum creation process to the user terminal input/output part at Step S815. Accordingly, the user terminal input/output part can confirm the result of Iuum creation.
[73] Fig. 9 is a view illustrating a method of providing an Iuum page using an XML interface in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Fig. 9, as described above, an XML interface can be used for Iuum page creation and information exchange. That is, by using an XML common interface library such as an open API, RSS 2.0 is supported, and tags by the Iuum service can be also supported.
[74] Accordingly, information inputted in the user terminal 330 is transmitted to an
XML parser 921 of a server side library 920 via an XML transmitter 911 of a client side library 910, and an XML document parsed in the XML parser 921 is processed in a data input processing part 930 of the Iuum service server 360. The processed XML document is stored in the tag information database 240.
[75] On the other hand, when the user terminal 330 tries to the pre-stored tag information, the information stored in the tag information database 240 is outputted through a data output processing part 940 of the Iuum service server 360 and is provided to an XML transmitter 922 of the server side library 920. The XML transmitter 922 of the server side library 920 constructs received information as an XML document and transmits the constructed XML document to the XML parser 912 of the client side library 910. The XML parser 912 of the client side library 910 parses received XML document and outputs the parsed XML document to the user terminal 330.
[76] Fig. 10 is a view showing detailed information of a created tag in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Fig. 10, a tag space created in Internet contents may be classified into regions of subject, keyword, opinion, related link, etc. depending on the kind of tag-related information. For example, a title such as again viewing Kim Sam-Soon drama may be indicated in an upper end of the tag space, and related keywords such as Oliverstone, Yuri International, etc. may be indicated in a portion below the title.
[77] In addition, below the under the keyword region is provided a region, such as Iuum
Talk, in which a variety of opinions related to the Internet contents are posted. In addition, below the Iuum Talk region is indicated a linked page or the like that allows a user to find other tags related the Internet contents, or other Internet contents. In addition, this linked page allows infinite spread of information as well as provision of information by users and provision of related information over provision of information by contents providers through Web sites.
[78] Fig. 11 is a view showing a method of using a Web page connected to a created tag in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to Fig. 11, a user can classify and spread information easily by creating tags in a plurality of Web pages associated with the same subject and connecting the created tags to a linked page. In addition, other users who visit the Web pages can easily search related information and acquire a great quantity of related information.
[79] For example, if a tag is to be created in articles related to Cheer of Red Devil at World Cup, related information an be managed, classified and spread by creating the tag in the articles with priority given to related articles having higher number of search, and then linking the related articles or different tags created in the related articles to the tag.
