Abstract

A process for the preparation of a compound of formula (I) in which Y is absent or represents methylene, and X is O or S which comprises reacting a compound of formula (II) with a compound of formula (III) in which Y is absent or represents methylene, and X is O or S or a salt thereof optionally in the presence of a base and optionally in the presence of an inert solvent, at a temperature in the range of 0 to 150°C and reaction of the compound of formula (I) with a compound of formula (IV) to give a compound of formula (V) or a salt thereof.
