Abstract
The folding shovel allows for a minimization of the shovel's folded volume with its individual constituents being secured against separation. The folding shovel has detachable shaft. One side of the shovel's body (1) containing a hole (4) opposite which is a shaped flange 5 on the other side of the shovel's body (1). Shaft (2) runs through the hole (4) and its end is fixed inside the shaped flange (5).
Description
Folding shovel
Technical scope
The technical solution deals with the design of the folding shovel with detachable handle and the fixation of the shaft in the shovel's body.
Existing status of technical solutions
Currently, there are several different types of shovels whose individual parts - handle, shaft and body are stored in various cases or bags where they cannot be secured from movement. As is the case especially with large shovels - these parts do not assemble well and take up large storage area.
The core of the technical solution
The above-mentioned disadvantages are eliminated through the design of a folding shovel with detachable shaft following an engineering solution based on the creation of a hole on one end of the shovel's body and a shaped flange on the other. The shaft passes through the hole and its end is fixed inside the shaped flange. The shaft is telescopic and its most extreme part has a spring-loaded lock pin at the end. A part of the shovel's body has a hole before the shaped flange. Below the hole, on the back surface of the shovel body is a closed tube. Another important feature is that the tube has a hole for the spring-loaded lock pin of the lower part of the shovel's shaft and it is closed.
This design allows for a minimization of the shovel's folded volume with its individual constituents being secured against separation. This solution is suitable for all shovel types for industrial use, sports, recreation, or fun - wherever the smallest storage dimensions of the shovel are required. The shovel can also come with suitable accessories for easier placement and fixation in a specific place - e.g. with an adhesive zipper when stored in a car's luggage compartment
List of Figures in the drawing
The folding shovel is shown in the attached drawing: Fig.1 shows a front view of the assembled shovel, Fig. 2 shows a back view of the assembled shovel, Fig. 3 shows a front view of the folded shovel and Fig. 4 shows a back view of the folded shovel.
Example: technical solution
The folded shovel is composed of a body 1 and a detachable shaft 2. The shaft has a handle 3. The shovel's body 1 is shaped so there is a hole 4 on the back surface. A shaped flange 5 is located on the front face of the shovel's body 1. The shaft 2 runs through the hole 4 so the shaped flange 5 fits into its hollow end. The shaft 2 is telescopic and its most extreme part has a spring-loaded lock pin 7 at the end. The middle part of the shovel's body has a hole 6 which comes before the shaped flange 5. Under the hole 4 on the back surface of the shovel's body 1 is a closed tube 8 for the fixation of the shaft 2 with a hole 9 for the spring loaded lock pin 7 of the shaft's lower part. The shovel's body 1 has holes 10 for fastening girths.
The folded telescopic shaft 2 runs through the hole 4 and its hollow end is mounted on the shaped flange - point 5 of the shovel's body. The spring-loaded lock pin 7 fits in the hole 6 in the front part of the shovel's body 1 before the flange 5 securing the folded shaft 2 against releasing and disengaging from the shovel's body 1.
Claims
