Abstract
Description
MUNDVERSCHLÜSSHILFE SOWIE VORRICHTUNG ZUR HERSTELLUNG EINER SOLCHEN MOUTH CLOSURE HELP AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING SUCH A
The invention treats a mouth closure during sleep to prevent unwanted breathing via the orbit of the mouth (snoring) and thus to allow breathing primarily through the nose only.
Die Figur 2 stellt einen Schnitt durch die Schalung dar.FIG. 1 shows the dental impression of the upper or lower rows of teeth. FIG. 2 shows a section through the formwork.
The mouth closure aid consists of a plastic formwork (1), in which a Silikonabruckmasse (3) is introduced to allow an accurate impression of the front four to twelve teeth per upper and lower jaw of the respective dentition, so that the mouth closure can be adapted to all Gebissypen. The formwork (1) (length approx. 5 - 7 cm) is open in the middle, ie between the upper and lower teeth, and connects the impression of the upper and lower rows of teeth. The three perforated tooth abutment holders (2) (length approx. 0.6 to 1 cm) allow a necessary distance of approx. 0.5 - 1 mm between the upper and lower rows of teeth. Through the perforation (2) of the webs can after curing of the silicone impression material (3), the plastic formwork (1) are removed by breaking out. The exposed impression mass (3) is cut to an ideal fit by means of a knife, so that the best possible wearing feeling is achieved. Taking the impression as well as adapting it to the optimal wearing comfort can not be done easily by a layman. For the uninitiated, dentists could also make the adjustment.
Bei Anwendung dieser Mundverschlusshilfe entsteht auch ein geringer Unterdruck zwischen demThe subjects involved in the test confirm a comfortable and invisible wearing of this mouth closure aid as well as the absolute prevention of mouth breathing. This invention can also be applied to full dentures when they remain in the mouth during the night. When using this mouth closure aid also creates a slight negative pressure between the
_Impression bed and teeth, which supports the Haitefähigkeit, which is based mainly on friction. However, to prevent mouth breathing, the height of the mouth closure aid must be at least 20 - 30 mm, and four to twelve teeth per jaw. This size ensures that it is impossible to swallow or stifle this mouth closure aid. _
In all subjects wearing presented with beginning an "immediate and desired nasal breathing in. The perforated spacer (2) effect a necessary for the success of distance between upper and lower jaw to a relaxing, pine intervertebral discs relieving comfort to ensure

By means of this invention, the following results are achieved: a) With the purely nasal breathing achieved by necessity, mouth breathing is excluded and dehydration of the oropharynx space is prevented. A repeated nocturnal awakening due to a dried-up oral pharynx is thus excluded and an undisturbed long sleep phase is guaranteed. b) By the nasal breathing achieved with the invention, the snoring is greatly reduced, in particular the volume of the Rachensegelschnarcher, since the double breathing is prevented. c) The mouth-closing aid also prevents the tooth crunching, as it prevents the teeth from being touched by the tooth spacers (2). d) By the exact relaxed adjustment of the dentition also an ergonomic relaxation of the mandibular disc is achieved.

This is to be found in a report of the magazine "Der Stern", issue no. 12 of 17.03.2005, in a completed study on snoring p. 156 - 162.
According to Stern report, improvements were achieved shortly after irreparable operations. According to "Stern", the anti-snoring braces of Dr. Edmund Rose are to be assessed positively, but with the great disadvantage of unpleasant wearing and problems after prolonged use with an undesirable painful change of the jaw.
