Only a single program is displayed on the screen when the pre-stored time of commencement of the program to be reminded of has not yet started. At the time of commencement of the pre-stored program, a display window appears on one part of the screen and the pictures taken from the pre-selected source are displayed. In order to attract the attention of the user, flashing, vocal, vibratory, tagged and similar alerts accompany the display window for a certain period of time.
  • the method which is the subject of the invention can also be used for other purposes. For instance, an image from a camera can appear at the corner of the television screen at pre-determined times while watching television. In this way, it is possible monitor a baby or a patient sleeping in another room or the surroundings of a house.
