Abstract

The present invention refers to a process for manufacturing shoes with upper made of decoloured fabric, together with the shoe obtained by said process; process being characterised in that it consists in the sequence of the following operations: - complete manufacturing of an upper made of denim or coloured cotton fabric of any other colour; - traditional aging of the upper by means of decolouring; - attachment of the decoloured upper to an outer sole made of leather, rubber or any other suitable material.

Description

Description
Process for manufacturing shoes with decoloured upper made of denim or colour cotton fabric and shoe obtained by said process.
The present patent application refers to a process for manufacturing shoes with upper having an aged look obtained by means of decolouring, made of denim or cotton fabric of any colour.
The invention also refers to the shoe obtained by said process. Shoes with denim upper have been produced for a long time.
Shoes with decoloured denim upper with worn-out look have been especially successful on the market.
As it is known, denim is decoloured by means of special washing processes, in which the fabric partially loses its original dark colour because of chemical or mechanical agents.
Shoes with aged denim upper have been traditionally manufactured with the following process.
Pieces of denim fabric are first decoloured and then cut to measure in order to be sewn and form the upper as desired. However, the final result of the said process is not completely satisfactory, due to the fact that the aged fabric is in contrast with the "brand new" seams and riveted edges, which do not have a worn-out aged look, being realised after the decolouring process of the fabric.
The specific purpose of the present invention is to obtain uppers made of decoloured denim (or decoloured cotton fabric of any colour) without the aforementioned defect, which look completely aged, including seams and riveted edges.
The aforementioned result has been obtained with the new process of the invention, according to which uppers are manufactured with non-aged fabric.
Once manufacturing has been completed, uppers are subject to traditional decolouring processes that affect both fabric and thread used for seams.
In this way, uppers are given real, uniform aging, which is not perceived as an artificial process because of the "brand new" seams (as with the current technology). It must be noted that the process of the invention can be effectively applied to denim uppers in which adjacent edges of the fabric are folded and overlapped in contact points and also to denim uppers in which suitably frayed adjacent edges of the fabric are visible.
As mentioned above, the innovative technology of the invention can be used to manufacture aged uppers made of denim as well as aged uppers made of cotton fabric with different colour.
In fact, once they have been manufactured with non-aged coloured fabric, coloured uppers are decoloured and attached to the outer sole.
For purposes of clarity the description of the present invention continues with reference to the enclosed drawing, which is intended for purposes of illustration only and not in a limiting sense, whereby Fig. 1 is a diagrammatic view of the shoe obtained by the said process.
With reference to the aforementioned . figure, the process of the invention consists in the following sequence of operations: - complete manufacturing of a footwear upper (1) made of denim or cotton fabric of any colour;
- aging of the upper (1) by means of traditional decolouring technologies;
- attachment of the decoloured upper (1) to a corresponding outer sole (2) made of leather, rubber or other suitable materials.
