Abstract

La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'exercice comprenant une structure de support fixe et un système d'apport de puissance maintenu par la structure de support, lesquels sont conçus de telle sorte que l'utilisateur applique une puissance d'entrée au dispositif d'exercice au niveau du système d'apport de puissance. Un élément rotatif est maintenu par la structure de support et un capteur de puissance est mis en rotation par la puissance d'entrée appliquée par l'utilisateur. La puissance d'entrée appliquée par l'utilisateur est transférée par l'intermédiaire du capteur de puissance de manière à entraîner la rotation de l'élément rotatif. L'élément rotatif se présente sous la forme d'un élément rotatif fournissant une résistance, lequel élément est maintenu de manière rotative sur la structure de support par le capteur de puissance. Dans un mode de réalisation, le capteur de puissance est mis en rotation par l'intermédiaire d'un système d'entraînement par chaîne placé entre le dispositif d'apport de puissance et le capteur de puissance rotatif. Le capteur de puissance peut se présenter sous la forme d'une pédale, et l'élément rotatif fournissant une résistance peut se présenter sous la forme d'un volant monté de manière rotative sur la structure de support fixe par l'intermédiaire du capteur de puissance. Un dispositif de résistance actionné par l'utilisateur agit sur le volant de manière à résister à la rotation dudit volant. Ce dispositif de résistance actionné par l'utilisateur peut se présenter sous la forme d'un étrier qui s'engrène sélectivement dans le volant en réponse à l'actionnement de l'utilisateur. La structure de support peut se présenter sous la forme d'un cadre de bicyclette fixe qui comprend une assise pour un utilisateur et un ensemble de guidons.
