From the results shown in Fig. 3, although the NO reduction rate is reduced by increasing the smoke absorption capacity, compared to the case of Example 1, the sample using PTIO-added activated carbon III uses PTIO-free activated carbon. It can be seen that the NO reduction rate is significantly higher than that of the cigarette sample. The NOx reduction rate showed the same trend as the NO reduction rate.
  • Example 4 The same cigarette sample (using hygroscopic PTIO) as in Example 2 was burned under the same conditions as in Example 3, and the NO reduction rate was calculated. The NO reduction rate was also calculated for cigarette samples using activated carbon without PTIO. The results are shown in Fig. 4. In Fig. 4, line a shows the results when PTIO-impregnated activated carbon was used, and line b shows the results when PTIO-unattached activated carbon was used. From the results shown in Fig. 4, although the NO reduction rate is reduced by increasing the smoke absorption capacity, the sample using PTIO-added activated carbon is a cigarette using PTIO-free activated carbon. It can be seen that the NO reduction rate is significantly higher than the sample. Again, the NOx reduction rate showed the same trend as the NO reduction rate.
