A download file (30) for use in a communications network having a plurality of target blocks (32), an end (36), and a signature (32). Each target block (32) including an image to be downloaded to an intelligent device (22), a target identifier indicating an intelligent device (22) that may use the image, and a qualifier that qualifies how the image is to be downloaded. The end (36) indicating the end of the download file. The signature (32) used to validate the download file (30) by the intelligent device (22).
