Abstract

Un flux de rayonnement ultraviolet (1) est émis par un gaz de travail confiné entre deux tubes de silice coaxiaux (TI et TO) raccordés à leurs deux extrémités. Ce gaz est soumis pour cela à des impulsions électriques fournies par un générateur (3) et appliquées entre une électrode interne (EI) et une électrode externe (EO) incluant une fenêtre conductrice (F). Le refroidissement est assuré par une circulation d'air entraînée, notamment dans le tube (TI), par un ventilateur (4). Son efficacité est renforcée par un évacuateur de chaleur (EV) associé à l'électrode (EI). Elle l'est aussi par une circulation convective du gaz de travail. Cette circulation est aménagée non seulement autour du tube (TI) au voisinage des électrodes, mais aussi dans un plan axial avec passages de part et d'autre de ce tube aux deux extrémités de celui-ci à distance de l'une au moins des électrodes. Cette invention s'applique aux traitements industriels et médicaux qui utilisent un rayonnement ultraviolet à très petite largeur spectrale. Elle est notamment avantageuse pour le traitement du psoriasis et du vitiligo.
