  • the preferred fluoroelastomeric material has a fluorine content of 70%.
  • the high fluorine content in Mosites #10320-C provides a high degree of chemical inertness and resistance to degradation that may otherwise occur during exposure to volatiles created during the autoclaving process. Without resistance to attack from volatiles, tacifiers and acids, the mechanical properties of the sealing flange 22 would degrade after two or three autoclave cycles to a degree such that the vacuum bag would not be reusable.

After curing, the nylon bag 38 and the reusable vacuum bag 10 are removed from the forming tool 16. The nylon bag 38 is discarded and the reusable vacuum bag 10 is stabilized by postcuring in an oven at ambient pressure and elevated temperature greater than the curing temperature.

Abstract

Un sac sous vide réutilisable (20) est configuré pour l'application d'un collier d'étanchéité (14) pour permettre une étroite étanchéité au vide du sac sous vide à un outil de formage (16) durant la fabrication d'une partie composite (18). Le sac sous vide comprend au moins une couche d'élastomère (20) et une bande fluoroélastomère (24). La couche d'élastomère peut être jointe à l'outil de formage et possède un bourrelet de joint (22) s'étendant tout autour de celui-ci. La bande fluoroélastomère s'étend nettement le long du bourrelet de joint et a une première et deuxième surfaces. La couche d'élastomère et la bande fluoroélastomère ont chacune des polymères et un traitement au peroxyde. Le traitement au peroxyde débute la vulcanisation quand les polymères de chaque matériau se lient à température élevée pour former des liaisons oxygènes doubles en ce qu'une liaison permanente est formée entre le bourrelet de joint et la bande fluoroélastomère à la première surface. La bande fluoroélastomère est attachée de façon amovible à la seconde surface du collier d'étanchéité.
