  • This invention relates to equipment for materials handling. More particularly although not exclusively it discloses an improved carrier for the transport and storage of narrow width or slit bore vertical steel cores with open bores.
  • Narrow width bore vertical steel cores are transported by placing two lengths of timber of say 75mm by 50mm cross section and a length equal to at least the diameter of the core, parallel to each other and separated by a distance equal to or greater than the bore of the core onto the transport medium, a steel core is then placed on top of these timbers by a mechanical device e.g. forklift.
  • a multitude of cores can be transported by placing extra timbers onto the core already in place and then adding another steel core and so on, up to a height of approximately 1.5m. This stack of cores is then secured to the vehicle by a chain secured to either side of the vehicle tray and passing over the top of the core stack.

Abstract

L'invention concerne une plaque de séchage pour noyaux ou une palette, et un dispositif de fixation de noyaux, permettant de fixer des noyaux à fente ou des noyaux étroits creux. La palette en acier soudé comprend des entretoises (1) reliées par des traverses parallèles (2). La traverse centrale comporte des sections de cerclage (4) avec des éléments de protection (5). Une position centrale (6) est destinée à la fixation d'une chaîne. Les angles de la palette son équipés de plaques d'extrémité (7) comportant des pattes latérales pour du matériel de levage aérien. Des pattes de levage pour des fourches (9) sont situées de chaque côté. Le dispositif de fixation comprend un canal (11), un élément transversal (16), une plaque de verrouillage centrale (17) et un crochet (19) fixé à la position centrale (6), une chaîne étant fixée à la plaque de verrouillage (17).
