Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de contrôle de l'alimentation en matières pulvérulentes d'une cellule d'électrolyse destinée à la production d'aluminium par électrolyse ignée et munie d'au moins un distributeur de matières pulvérulentes et d'au moins un dispositif de perçage (30) comportant un actionneur (31) et un piqueur (33), dans lequel on forme au moins une ouverture dans la croûte de bain solidifié à l'aide du dispositif de perçage et on introduit de la matière pulvérulente par au moins une ouverture selon une procédure d'alimentation dite normale, dans lequel, à un instant to déterminé, on génère un signal électrique apte à provoquer la descente du piqueur à l'aide de l'actionneur (31), on mesure le moment t auquel le piqueur (33) atteint une position basse déterminée, on détermine la valeur d'au moins un indicateur de fonctionnement de l'alimentation F à partir de la valeur de to et de la valeur obtenue pour le moment t, on détermine si le fonctionnement est anormal à partir d'au moins un critère de fonctionnement et de la valeur du ou des indicateurs de fonctionnement, si le fonctionnement n'est pas jugé anormal, on maintient la procédure d'alimentation normale, si le fonctionnement est jugé anormal, on enclenche au moins une procédure rectificative, dite 'de régularisation/normalisation', susceptible de ramener l'alimentation en matières pulvérulentes dans un fonctionnement normal. Le procédé de l'invention, facile à automatiser, permet de maintenir la surveillance du fonctionnement de l'alimentation même durant des effets d'anodes.
