  • the gel is preferably packaged in a system including a plastic envelope on a backing card and the system is adapted to be manually disrupted to expel the gel.
  • the gel may contain natural or artificial flavouring and/or sweeteners to make it palatable.
  • the opening of the packaging system and delivery of the gel to a user's mouth mimics the hand to mouth action of smoking a cigarette.
  • a point of weakness is found at one position in the system such that in use, the system can be opened by a user to release the gel by breaking the package at the point of weakness.
  • the package may be opened by a user applying pressure to the point of weakness.
  • the point of weakness may be at the mid point along the packaging system's length or may be situated to one side of the packaging system.
  • the invention provides a nicotine deliver ⁇ ' system including: a packaging system containing a gel.
  • the gel containing a concentrate including a standardized level of nicotine; and wherein the packaging system is adapted to be opened by a user such that the gel is able to be released into the user ' s mouth.
  • the invention provides a packaging system for a nicotine gel comprising: a) a plastic sealing system adhered to a backing sheet; b) a nicotine gel concentrate inside the plastic sealing system; c) a position of weakness in the packaging system such that the application of pressure to the position of weakness results in the opening of the plastic sealing system and possible removal of the nicotine containing gel.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un système d'emballage (2) d'un gel de nicotine (12) comprenant un système de scellement plastique (6, 8) collé à une feuille de support (4), un concentrat de gel de nicotine (12) à l'intérieur du système de scellement et d'une position préincisée (14) dans le système d'emballage de manière que l'application d'une pression sur ladite position par l'utilisateur se traduise par l'ouverture du système de scellement plastique et de la libération dans la bouche de l'utilisateur du gel contenant la nicotine. Le système permet à l'utilisateur d'effectuer l'action répétée du geste de la main vers la bouche comme s'il s'agissait d'une cigarette standard lors de l'administration du gel dans sa bouche.
