Abstract

The invention relates to a device (LAM, CBC) for compensating for the corneal birefringence during an examination of the parts of the eye (OEX) situated beyond the cornea, comprising phase differential retarders on two perpendicular axes. Said device may be embodied as a superposition of two identical prisms mounted head to tail and a sheet with parallel faces. The two prisms have rapid axes parallel to each other and to the edge of the prisms and perpendicular to the rapid axis of the sheet.
