Abstract

A weapon ball-and-socket-based weapon mounting system for removably attaching a weapon (50) to the body of a user. A ball stock (100) adapted to be attached to a weapon (50) at one end and configured with a substantially ball-shaped ball element (110) on the other end replaced the conventional weapon butt stock. The ball stock (100) mates with a body-supported socket (200) adapted to receive the ball element (110) by clicking in to the socket (200). The user is able to articulate the weapon (50) into a rest position as well as rotating it through a full range of elevation and sweeping orientations.
