Abstract

Le dispositif et le procédé de l'invention se rapportent au codage et à la reconnaissance de motifs papillaires (MP), de préférence des doigts, utilisés dans des systèmes biométriques automatisés d'identification personnelle, de comparaison de MP ou de réglementation d'accès. L'invention permet d'augmenter la fiabilité de la reconnaissance et de la stabilité des certificats à MP, d'éliminer l'influence du décalage et de la rotation des MP, de comptabiliser dans les certificats à MP les erreurs systématiques ou occasionnelles qui apparaissent lorsqu'une image (I) de MP est obtenue, et d'améliorer la qualité du certificat statistique lorsque le nombre d'I comparées d'un MP augmente. Le procédé de reconnaissance de MP consiste à former 3 certificats, y compris un certificat statistique et un certificat déterministe. L'utilisation répétée des procédures de comparaison de données provenant d'un capteur de MP, présenté conjointement avec les certificats permet de raccourcir la durée totale de la procédure de reconnaissance grâce à la prise de décision sur la reconnaissance des MP à des stades plus précoces, lorsque les critères de netteté de la reconnaissance sont satisfaits.
