Description

DESCRIPTION
CALCIUM ION DRINK THAT INTAKE USES POSSIBLE HI- CONDENSED CALCIUM AQUEOUS SOLUTION MANUGAXTURE METHOD AND THIS Technical Field The present invention relates, in general, to a method for manufacturing an ingestible, highly concentrated aqueous calcium solution and a calcium ion beverage based on the calcium solution and, more particularly, to a method for manufacturing an ingestible, highly concentrated aqueous calcium solution from calcium-containing mineral materials or shells of oysters, clams, eggs and the like, which is neutral in pH and a calcium ion beverage comprising a food additive plus the calcium solution, which is rich in calcium ion and can promote cellular metabolism or physiological function as well as being effective in the prevention of diseases caused by a lack of calcium, including osteoporosis, coronary sclerosis, and hypertension. Background Art Calcium is a constitutional element of the body, amounting to as much as 2% of the body weight. Directly or indirectly, a lack of calcium gives rise to various diseases, including osteoporosis, coronary sclerosis, hypertension-derived acute dermatitis, skin disorders, hemorrhagic disorders, etc. Additionally, old persons who are deficient in calcium become unable to relax nerve tissue, easily become fatigued, and suffer from insomnia. Calcium deficiency causes calcium to be released from the bone to the blood and thus accumulate in the blood, resulting in occasional convulsions in the limbs of the patient. Some foods, although rich in calcium, cannot guarantee the need of calcium due to the low uptake of calcium by the body. Therefore, there is a need for a method that can effectively supplement calcium for the body.
Detailed Description of the Invention Technical Objects With the problems in mind, the present invention found that calcium shows the highest uptake in the body when it is ionized, which leads to the invention, and an object of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing an ingestible highly concentrated aqueous calcium ion solution from calcium-containing mineral materials or shells of oysters, clams, eggs and the like, and a calcium ion beverage based on the calcium ion solution, which can sufficiently supplement calcium for the body at a high uptake rate, thus promoting the metabolism and physiological function of cells and preventing various diseases caused by a lack of calcium, including osteoporosis, coronary sclerosis, hypertension and the like.
Description of Drawings FIG. 1 is a process flow showing the production of an ingestible highly concentrated aqueous calcium solution, in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a process flow showing the production of an ingestible highly concentrated aqueous calcium solution, in accordance with another embodiment of the present invention.
Best Modes A better understanding of the present invention may be obtained through the following examples which are set forth to illustrate, but are not to be construed as the limit of the present invention. With reference to the process flow of FIG. 1, Example 1 will be described in detail below. EXAMPLE 1 (1ST process: impurity removal) Calcium-containing mineral materials or shells thereof, for example, oysters, clams, eggs, etc. were washed to remove dirt and salt therefrom, followed by drying them.
(2nd process: sterilization baking) In this process, various toxic residues in the cleaned and dried shells were eliminated. To achieve this, the shells were baked at 900-1300 °C for 3-6 hours depending on their sizes or thicknesses, so as to sterilize the shells as well as convert calcium carbonate (CaC0 ) into calcium oxide (CaO) .
(3rd process: Pulverization) Lumps of calcium oxide (CaO) which were converted from calcium carbonate (CaC03) by baking were pulverized to a desired size. A preferable size was 250-600 mesh.
(4th process: Calcium oxide powder mixing) The calcium oxide powder obtained by the pulverization of the shells to a desired size in the 3rd process was added to water at a ratio of lg per liter of water, followed by mixing the solution with a stirrer to create an aqueous calcium ion solution in which calcium ions (Ca++) are present as a result of the combination of water molecules (H20) with calcium oxide molecules (CaO) . Being of strong alkalinity with a pH of 12-13, the aqueous calcium ion solution was harmful to the body. That is, the solution was not suitable for ingesting (drinking) .
(5th process: Production of Ingestible, highly concentrated aqueous calcium solution) The highly alkaline calcium ion solution obtained in the 4th process was neutralized with acetic acid (CH3COOH) of 99% or higher purity to afford an ingestible, highly concentrated aqueous calcium solution. Serving as a catalyst for activating the aqueous calcium solution, acetic acid accelerates the solubilization of calcium in addition to neutralizing the solution. With reference to the process flow of FIG. 2, Example 2 will be described in detail below. EXAMPLE 2
(1ST process: impurity removal) Calcium-including mineral materials or shells thereof, for example, oysters, clams, eggs, etc. were cleared of dirt and salt by washing, followed by drying them.
(2nd process: sterilization baking) This process is responsible for the elimination of various toxics remaining in the cleaned and dried shells . In this regard, the shells were baked at 900-1300 °C for 3-6 hours according to their sizes or thicknesses, so as to sterilize the shells as well as convert calcium carbonate (CaC03) into calcium oxide (CaO) . (3rd process: Pulverization) Lumps of pure calcium oxide (CaO) , which were converted from calcium carbonate (CaC03) by baking, were pulverized to a size of 250-600 mesh. (4th process: Production of Ingestible, highly concentrated aqueous calcium solution) The calcium oxide (CaO) powder obtained by the pulverization of the shells to a desired size in the 3rd process was added to water at a ratio of lg per liter of water, followed by mixing the solution with a stirrer during which acetic acid (CH3COOH) of 99% or higher purity was added to neutralize the pH of the solution to afford an ingestible, highly concentrated aqueous calcium solution. Serving as a catalyst for activating the aqueous calcium solution, acetic acid accelerates the solubilization of calcium in addition to neutralizing the solution. Acetic acid (CH3COOH) of 99% or higher purity, which serves as an activation catalyst in Examples 1 and 2, was added at a ratio of 1.0-1.90 M ml per mg of calcium oxide (CaO) to adjust the pH of the aqueous calcium solution to a range of 3-10. Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims. The ingestible highly concentrated aqueous calcium solution thus obtained may be supplemented with various food additives, such as fruit extracts, oligosaccharides, etc., according to consumers' tastes, to produce a high quality aqueous calcium ion drink rich in calcium ion. Further, the highly concentrated aqueous calcium solution which is directly ingestible is odorless, colorless and harmless in addition to being neutral in pH so that it can be used as a main or sub material for beverages or foods . Thus, any beverage or food that is produced with the ingestible, highly concentrated aqueous calcium solution of the present invention does not depart from the spirit of the present invention but is within the scope of the present invention.
Industrial Applicability As described above, the aqueous calcium solution manufactured according to the present invention is odorless, colorless, harmless and neutral in pH so that it is possible to ingest directly and has a high rate of uptake. Based on the directly ingestible aqueous calcium solution, various beverages or foods may be produced with supplementation of food additives such as fruit extracts, oligosaccharides, etc. The beverages or foods based on the aqueous calcium solution, if ingested, provide the body with sufficient calcium and thus are effective in the prevention of various diseases including osteoporosis, coronary sclerosis and hypertension. Additionally, beverages or foods rich in calcium ions have geometrically stable aqueous structures similar to that of somatic water so that they can readily penetrate into cells, thus maximizing intracellular metabolism with low energy. Further, the beverages or foods which are readily ingestible and have a highly bodily uptake rate are helpful in maintaining a healthy life because they prevent the proliferation of microorganisms.
