- the consultation operation (40) and the downloading of the messages by means of the receiving means (232) of the receiver allows the loading of the messages from one or more mailboxes associated with the recipient to receive several segments and s '' along with the deletion of messages from the mailbox hosting site.
- the assembly (24) and verification (25) means of the segments by the receiving system (2r) allow the progressive reconstruction of the file and the determination of the remaining segments to be downloaded (55). If a transfer or segment (s) assembly error is detected, the receiving system sends a transfer request for this (these) segment (s) again (52), identifying it by its number, so as to be able to reconstruct a correct total file without having to restart the transfer in full. As long as the reconstructed file does not reach the total size announced in the transfer start notification (51), the receiving system sends segment requests (52) to complete the file. When the reconstructed file reaches the size announced in the transfer start notification (51), the receiving system sends an end of transfer notification (56) to the sender's mailbox (41).
- the sending of the notification (56) of end of transfer by the receiving system and its consultation (40) by the sending system activates their respective display means (3) to warn the users that the transfer has been completed successfully.
- An alternative embodiment consists in that the transfer system can send and receive successive messages using several e-mail addresses at the same time. The same file can then be sent, for example, to several users at the same time.
- the use of several mailboxes from the same sender and / or the same recipient of the file makes it possible to manage the transfer of the segments via all of the user's mailboxes on the different hosting sites, in order to reduce the time between sending and receiving segments of the large file.

Description
OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a system and method for sending a large file, such as a copy of a compact disc, by electronic mail.
OF THE INVENTION On the one hand, it is known in the prior art image scanning systems comprising a scanner and a suitable software allowing for example to scan the image of the pocket of a compact disc or the disc itself with the silkscreen printed on it. There are also known compact disc copy systems comprising a disc player and suitable digital copying software allowing the creation of an image of the compact disc on the hard drive of a computer, with the possible creation of a pocket, based on the content of the disc, which can be integrated into the image of the compact disc. These softwares do not always allow the copying of the discs because they do not directly process the binary data of the compact disc whatever its content. If a user wants to make a complete copy of a compact disc with his data, his screenprint and his pocket, he will therefore have to configure his system and use two different software before being able to create a complete image of the compact disc, which therefore represents a task complicated. On the other hand, it is known in the prior art systems for quickly sending files by electronic mailboxes which only send files of limited size, often very small in comparison with the files handled by many users like videos, music, photo albums or even data from an entire compact disc. Electronic communications servers are also known, making it possible to send large files over the Internet but requiring the storage of the files in their entirety on the server and therefore the holding of an account which is often paid if the authorized file size is large (page Personal Internet or temporary storage and sending of electronic messages). There are also file sharing services between individuals using free servers through which files transit, but greatly slowed down by heavy traffic and making it impossible to choose the recipients of the file. In addition, there are systems for sending files using very fast file transfer protocols (FTP) but which do not allow them to pass through the protection systems of Internet service providers (firewalls, or Firewall in English) and generally requiring the possession of specific paid software for acceptable functionality and a certain mastery of the use of Internet services. Finally, many file transfer systems do not allow, in the event of an interruption, the resumption of the transfer at the point of interruption and require the complete restart of the transfer. In conclusion, to date, there is no system that makes it easy to make a full copy of a compact disc with its data (whatever its nature), its screenprint and its cover and to send the large file quickly and free of charge thus generated to recipients by electronic mail.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION The present invention of compact disc remote transmission system by electronic mail consists of means for creating a full digital copy of compact disc (1) combined with means for transferring large files. by email (2). These means can be implemented in one or more devices constituting a terminal or in a computer provided with an Internet connection, a compact disc reader and an image scanning device (scanner). The invention requires a device for processing digital data and comprises, on the one hand, means for extracting (11) the data from a compact disc, means for digitizing (12) an image (from the screen printing of the compact disc. or its pocket) and assembly means (13) of the digital data generated and of recording in a final file. The invention furthermore comprises means for transfer by electronic messaging, comprising means for dividing (21) the file to be sent into segments, at least one of which is temporarily stored, means for determining (22) the optimal size of the segments and the optimal number of file segments to be sent at each step, means for numbering and sending (231) or receiving (232) successively messages electronic containing the successive segments of the file via mailboxes, means of assembling (24) the received segments, in the order of numbering, in a temporary file and means of checking (25) the size of the temporary file by report to the whole expected file and the presence of errors concerning the size and / or the content of the segments in order to determine the remaining segments to be downloaded. The invention also includes display means (3) at each step for messages offering the user choices among the various functionalities of the system and then indicating the result of these operations. At the request of the user, the display means (3) allow him to decide on the operations to be carried out among the possibilities of copying the compact disc, either in its entirety without being concerned with the content, or by choosing the files of the compact disc to copy. The validation of one of these choices activates the means of extracting (11) the data from the compact disc and creates, for example on the hard drive of the computer or in the memory of the terminal, a new file (or folder) which is an image of all or part of the compact disc (byte by byte in the case of a binary copy or file by file in the case of a simple copy). This file can receive other elements that will be offered to the user, such as a digital image of the cover of the compact disc or the screen printing printed on the surface of the disc itself. After completion of each operation, the means for displaying choices are reactivated to allow the user to restart the process or carry out the remaining operations. The validation of the choice to digitize the image of the compact disc and / or the cover activates the image digitizing means (12) which capture the image of the compact disc and / or the cover and then the means of displaying the (s) result (s) of the digitization (s) allow the user to decide if he wishes to add this file (s) to the content file of the compact disc thanks to the assembly means and recording (13) of the data. Once the chosen operation has been carried out, the display means offer the user to store the file in memory and / or to send it by electronic message. The user can choose the location where he wishes to store the file by means of data assembly and recording (13) and / or enter, by means of transfer (2) by electronic mail, one or more address (es) of recipient (s), the subject of the message and the files to send with the message (attachments) in addition to the file, created by the copy of the compact disc, which is automatically attached to the message. The validation of the sending of the message is proposed to the user thanks to the display means (3). Among the means of transfer of the sender system (2e) (as represented by the solid arrows in FIG. 2), once the optimal size of the messages has been determined, the means of dividing (21) the file to be sent divide into segments temporarily stored the file and number the segments in order. The sending system then implements its means of successively sending (231) electronic messages containing the successive segments of the file via mailboxes. When the recipient (s) is (are) connected, the reception of a transfer start notification results in the activation, in the receiver system, of the means of displaying (3) the choice to accept or refuse the file. If the transfer is accepted by the recipient (s), the active receiving system (represented by the hollow arrows in FIG. 2), among its transfer means, the means of determining (22) the optimal size of the segments and their number at each step of sending messages by the sending system, to optimize the transfer time. The receiver also comprises means of assembling (24) in order the segments received in a temporary file and the means of checking (25) the size of the temporary file compared to the memorized size of the whole expected file and the presence of 'errors concerning the size and / or content of the segments in order to determine the remaining segments to be downloaded. The receiver also includes means of sending a segment (s) request message to the sender's mailbox. new or repeat segment request (s) detected as containing an error. The transmitter and receiver systems then operate independently without requiring user intervention until the end of the transfer. The different steps constituting the step of transferring the electronic transmission method by electronic messaging are shown in FIG. 3. When the transmitter enters the address of a recipient and validates the sending (30) of the file, requested by means display (3), a notification (51) of start of transfer, containing the name and the size of the file and the maximum size of the messages authorized by the mailbox (41) of the sender, is sent to the box messaging system (42) of the recipient by the transfer means of the sending system (2e), via its mailbox (41). The sending system then waits for a response from the receiving system and, after receiving the response, activates its means of dividing (21) the file to be sent into segments of which at least one is temporarily stored and its means of numbering and sending (231 ) successively electronic messages containing the successive segments of the file via one or more mailboxes reserved for the recipient. When the recipient is connected to the Internet, the transfer means (2r) of the receiving system consult the recipient's electronic mail (42) and receive the message (s) by deleting it (s) from the hosting site to free up space automatically. The two systems, sender and receiver, are configured to systematically consult (40) their mailboxes and to delete messages received from hosting sites, so that their mailboxes (41, 42) are always empty and ready to receive files. An alternative embodiment consists in that this operation (40) of consultation with reception associated with a deletion takes place at a frequency determined by the users when no transfer is in progress, but at a higher frequency during the transfer periods. large file size. When the start of transfer notification (51), temporarily stored in the recipient's mailbox (42), is detected by the transfer means (2r) of the receiving system, the means display (3) choices allow the recipient to accept or decline the transfer. The refusal stops any activation of the means of the system. The acceptance (31) activates the means (22) of determining the size and the number of file segments to be sent, which calculate the number and the size of the messages to be sent at each step, according to the maximum size of the messages authorized. by the mailboxes (41) of the sender and (42) of the recipient and of the storage capacity available on the mailbox (42) of the recipient. The systems optimize the waiting times on the mailbox hosting sites according to the deadlines defined by the access providers according to the size of the messages. Service providers favor small messages over large messages, which are generally put on hold longer, until the message throughput allows them to be routed. The sending system therefore sends several messages, the size of which is smaller (including the file segment attached to each message), for example by a factor of 2 to 10, to the smallest of the maximum message sizes authorized on mailboxes. sender and recipient messaging so that each message is quickly routed by service providers. The number of messages sent by the system is determined so that their sum reaches the storage capacity available on the recipient's mailbox. This determination of the size and the number of messages to be sent can be done in four different ways: by interrogating the hosting site by the compact disc remote transmission systems being transferred, to obtain the parameters of the mailboxes concerned; by carrying out acceptance testing of messages of increasing or decreasing size and saturation tests of mailboxes by compact disc remote transmission systems in the course of transfer; by configuration of the system by the users, to whom the parameters of their mailbox (es) are often communicated during their subscription to the services offered by the access providers, and exchange of this information between the teletransmission systems of compact disc being transferred; by a base of data containing the different sizes authorized by the different access providers and implemented in compact disc remote transmission systems. The transfer means of the receiving system (2r) send, via the recipient's mailbox (42), a request for segments (52) to the transmitter's mailbox (41) and activate the means for assembling (24) the segments received, in order, in a temporary file and the means of checking (25) the size of the temporary file in relation to the whole expected file and of means determining the presence of errors concerning the size and / or the content of the segments in order determine the remaining segments to download. The transfer means of the sending system (2e), awaiting the response of the receiving system (2r), systematically carry out the operation (40) of consulting the mailbox to detect the presence on its mailbox (41) a request for segments (52). Upon receipt of the request for segments by the sending system, the latter deletes the message from its box and sends a new segment to the recipient's box. When a request is received, the means of sending (231) several messages containing successive segments carry out the preparation (54) of the messages containing the requested segments and then sending the segments (53) which will be stored on the messaging system (42 ) from the recipient to the consultation operation (40) by the receiving system. The consultation operation (40) and the downloading of the messages by means of the receiving means (232) of the receiver allows the loading of the messages from one or more mailboxes associated with the recipient to receive several segments and s '' along with the deletion of messages from the mailbox hosting site. The assembly (24) and verification (25) means of the segments by the receiving system (2r) allow the progressive reconstruction of the file and the determination of the remaining segments to be downloaded (55). The sending of the notification (56) of end of transfer by the receiving system and its consultation (40) by the sending system activates their respective display means (3) to warn the users that the transfer has been completed successfully. (32). An alternative embodiment consists in that the transfer system can send and receive successive messages using several e-mail addresses at the same time. The same file can then be sent, for example, to several users at the same time. The use of several mailboxes from the same sender and / or the same recipient of the file makes it possible to manage the transfer of the segments via all of the user's mailboxes on the different hosting sites, in order to reduce the time between sending and receiving segments of the large file. In operation, the system allows users to choose the operations they want to perform, from the following steps constituting the method of the invention: whether or not to copy the content of the compact disc by extracting binary data, whatever their nature, byte by byte or certain files on the compact disc; copy or not of the cover by creation of a scanned image thereof; copy or not of the screen printing printed on the disc by creation of a scanned image thereof; whether or not to save the complete digital copy and / or whether or not to send it to one or more recipients by electronic mail; entry and validation or not of the file storage location; entry and validation or not by the sender of the address (or addresses) of the recipient (s), triggering the sending of a notification of the total size of the file to be transferred and the maximum size of the messages authorized to be sent by the messaging service (s) of the issuer; acceptance or not of the transfer by the recipient (s) triggering the autonomous transfer procedure, consisting of the following steps no longer requiring user intervention: determination of the size and number of messages to be sent and sending by the system (s) receiving a transfer request file segment (s); preparation of segments of appropriate size by dividing the file then sending by the system sending message (s) containing the segment (s) requested; reception and then deletion by the receiving system (s) of the message (s) arrived on the site (s) hosting the mailbox (es) of the ( des) recipient (s) and assembly of the segment (s) in a temporary file; verification by the receiving system (s) of the presence of an erroneous or missing segment (s) in the temporary file and sending to the sending system a request for this segment (s) or a notification of end of transfer when the temporary file without errors reaches the total size announced at the start of transfer. It should be obvious to those skilled in the art that the present invention allows embodiments in many other specific forms without departing from the scope of the invention as claimed. Therefore, the present embodiments should be considered by way of illustration, but may be modified in the field defined by the scope of the appended claims, and the invention should not be limited to the details given above.
