Abstract

L'invention porte sur des dispositifs et des procédés d'ablation de tissus cardiaques afin de traiter des arythmies cardiaques telle une fibrillation auriculaire. Bien que ces dispositifs et ces procédés soient souvent utilisés pour pratiquer l'ablation des tissus épicardiaux à proximité d'au moins une veine pulmonaire, plusieurs modes de réalisation peuvent servir à enlever d'autres tissus cardiaques à d'autres endroits du coeur. Les dispositifs comprennent généralement au moins un élément de mise en contact des tissus, et au moins un élément d'ablation afin d'enlever les tissus. Plusieurs modes de réalisation présentent certaines caractéristiques, telles des ouvertures d'aspiration, qui permettent de fixer le dispositif à la surface épicardiale avec suffisamment de force pour permettre aux tissus de se stabiliser au moyen du dispositif. Par exemple, certains modes de réalisation servent à stabiliser un battement cardiaque afin d'effectuer l'ablation du coeur. Plusieurs de ces dispositifs peuvent être introduits dans un patient au moyen de dispositifs d'introduction à invasion minimale et similaires. Bine que ces dispositifs et ces procédés puissent servir à enlever des tissus épicardiaux afin de traiter la fibrillation auriculaire, ils peuvent également être utilisés en médecine vétérinaire ou dans le domaine de la recherche, afin de traiter différentes conditions cardiaques autres que la fibrillation auriculaire et/ou procéder à l'ablation de tissus cardiaques autres que l'épicarde.
