Abstract

The present invention relates to an isolated nucleic acid encoding a CaKif1 kinesin protein wherein the sequence of the isolated nucleic acid has been corrected for optimal expression in an Escherichia species or other organism. Disclosed are the nucleic acids, expression vectors, transformants obtained by the transformation with the expression vectors, methods of producing the modified protein using the transformant, and methods of screening for protein modulators.
