Abstract

L'invention a trait à un système et à un procédé permettant de détecter une fuite de fluide (10) dans un tuyau (4). Ledit procédé consiste à fournir un système réparti de sonde de température (6) comprenant une fibre optique de détection (8) qui s'étend dans le sens général du tuyau (4) et à proximité dudit tuyau (4). Selon ledit procédé, le système réparti de sonde de température (6) détecte, par l'intermédiaire de la fibre optique de détection (8), les changements de température causés par un écoulement de fluide issu d'une fuite (10) dans le tuyau (4). Un réactif (30), qui est placé à proximité du tuyau (4), réagit avec le fluide s'échappant de la fuite (10) présentée par le tuyau (4), afin de provoquer un changement de température, lequel est détecté par le système réparti de sonde de température (6).
