Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un système complets prévus pour gérer des matières en vrac et des matières conditionnées et des biens au moyen de dispositifs d'identification des biens par radiofréquence et par d'autres moyens, des systèmes de calcul mobiles répartis, des environnements de stockage de données centralisés et des systèmes informatiques fondés sur une architecture client-serveur. De manière plus particulière, un processus a été mis au point afin de gérer l'expédition d'articles depuis les entreprises et les tierces parties jusqu'aux endroits déterminés par les clients. Les constituants de ce système sont des dispositifs d'identification électronique des biens, un dépôt de données central, un environnement de calcul mobile et des applications logicielles associées adaptées à un système client-serveur ou à un système informatique à N niveaux. L'environnement de calcul mobile comprend un logiciel qui permet aux utilisateurs de localiser physiquement les biens, de voir les informations relatives aux biens et de modifier de telles informations afin qu'elles reflètent l'état actuel des biens. Ces informations peuvent ensuite être échangées et synchronisées dans le système informatique à N niveaux. De plus, plusieurs membres du personnel associés au dispositif d'expédition peuvent avoir accès aux informations disponibles sur un réseau informatique tel que l'Internet. De cette manière, ces personnes peuvent facilement déterminer l'état de diverses expéditions et également agir rapidement sur les informations recueillies pendant les actualisations de l'état, ceci accélérant la résolution des éventuels problèmes pouvant apparaître.
